how do i change my last name?

I have my fathers last name and i want to change it back to the first last name i had that was my mothers.
hes not my birth certificate so how is it possible in Australia?

Go to the courts dear. When u r filing for a divorce...u r truly filing for a name change...so u fill out papers along those lines.
