Hello to all. I have a vet appt. set up for Monday for this situation, but I'm just looking for any advice/suggestions here :)

I have a 15 1/2 year old male Aussie who has been acting very strange lately. When my fiance and I get on the floor to play with him (he loves playing with tennis balls and his rubber chicken!) he all of a sudden doesn't want to play. He starts panting, jumping on us and clawing us. His tail wags every once in a while, but it worries me because his ears go back and he looks like he's panicking or something. He has been like this for two weeks and I'm not sure what this could be. Any advice or has anyone had a dog that did this?

Thanks so much in advance for any help/suggestions.

He's grabbing you with his only hands to say.

From your limited information it sound like the dog is in pain. The ears back, the jumping on you and the clawing might indicate the dog is in pain. Doesn't want to play, again indicates the dog is in some pain. Yes, get the dog evaluated by a vet.

Bring Him to the Vets, when my dog acted like that we found out he was ill. he was growing a tumor inside, he had cancer, unfortunatly we were too late, the tumor grew bigger, and in a few years the dog died. Your dog may not have the samething as mine, but what ever it is I would suggest having the dog checked out. Good Luck!
