Pre-employment screening, random testing after employment, post accident testing and you must sign a release authorizing post-mortem drug testing if killed on duty.

They look for opiates, cocaine, marijuana, hallucinogens, quinine and amphetamines as well as any medications prescribed by a physician that may affect alertness or coordination. In the case of the latter, employees can be permitted to work if OKed by the carriers' medical examiners.

Everyone has a choice to make. Drinking and drugs or gainful employment. For most the choice is easy.

I would imagine its very similar to the one I took for employment with Union Pacific. It is very strict and there is a very strict procedure to follow about what you can and cannot do while taking the test. I think that the details are availible from the the Department of Transportation. I would look it up with them.
