I've actually been searching websites for DJ's in my area (just look them up in the phone book and check out the ones that have websites listed) because they often have suggestions for songs for the first dance and any other dance you could possibly have at a wedding. And a majority of the suggestions seem to be country. Sometimes if you look under father/daughter or wedding party dance songs there are some that could work as first dance songs as well.
A lot of the ones i found have suggesed songs by Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Reba Mcentire, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Lonestar, Rascal Flatts, Paul Brandt, Garth Brooks, etc. They all have some pretty songs.
My fiance and I are going to use Amazed By Lonestar. I just can't get over how beautiful it is, and it has special meaning for us.

I'm a big George Strait fan, so obviously I Cross My Heart and True (if you've never heard of this one, download it) are at the top of my list. I do REALLY like Lost In This Moment by Big and Rich. Heartland's I Loved Her First or Tim McGraw's My Little Girl would be good for the father/daughter dance. If your father isn't a part of the picture, I also like the idea of He Didn't Have To Be by Brad Paisley. Although the words of the song are more stepfather to stepson, it is a BEAUTIFUL song, and could go if you wanna dance with your uncle/stepfather/grandfather or whoever. If you're looking for stuff for your guests to get their groove on to, try Friends In Low Places, Redneck Woman, My Town, Six Days On The Road, T-R-O-U-B-L-E, Save A Horse Ride a Cowboy, The Fireman, Swingin', Elvira, etc.

I'm not a country fan, but my fiance is. He wants to use "Lost in this Moment" by Big and Rich. It's a wedding song.
Another song is by Gill Grand, called "I Already Fell".
For an X-Mas wedding, Alan Jackson's "All I want for Christmas is You".
One last idea is "I Hope You Dance". It could work well if you dedicate it to yourselves in memory of a deceased relative you were close to who couldn't be there for your big day. I might use this as our last dance song.

My Love -Little Texas
Your Love Amazes Me -John Berry
I Love The Way You Love Me -John M Montgomery
Makin' Memories of Us -Keith Urban
Remember When -Alan Jackson
Amazed -Lonestar (though highly over-used)
Must Be Doin' Something Right -Billy Currington
Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad -Def Leppard
Goodbye -Def Leppard
Breathe A Sigh -Def Leppard (Had to throw these in, not country, yet highly under-rated slow dance songs!!)
So many more, if only I could think....
