You should get the vehicles computer scanned and check for any problems as well as codes and then you will have a good idea on what the problem truly is.
But yes how miles are on this vehicle, how do you drive, do you do all and I mean all the required maintenance for this vehicle and have to had the alignment checked because a vehicle that is slightly out of alignment can cause a 3 to 5 miles per gallon loss or more depending on how far it is out.
The misconception is that if the vehicle is driving straight then the vehicle does not need an alignment "WRONG".

i have were given a 2011 Mustang V6 with an computerized transmission, it has the same engine because the 2013. i get over 30 mpg over 60 mph, yet contained in the low to mid 20 mpg determination contained in the city. that is on par with a kinfolk sedan. that is not that undesirable. and that i will tell little or no distinction in mileage even as i'm demanding on it or babying it, it really is superb! :-) i love my mustang, it really is a way extra efficient vehicle than that is ever been contained in the previous. I had a 2001 Roush and there is not any evaluation. You get a ton of capacity for the cost and mileage. There are not many engines getting that mileage with that a lot horsepower. I had a Geo Metro as a commuter vehicle and went for the Mustang. The mileage isn't as solid, besides the indisputable fact that it really is so worth it for sensible aspects, convenience, and performance. And the V6 is only a nil.5 2d slower to 60 than the GT. bypass for it!

Keep track of the mileage you get on a tank full. It is possible that someone could be siphoning gas out of your tank.
It also depends on how much you drive in a day and a half. You can empty a tank of gas out in a matter of hours if you are on a trip. figure you mileage and the gallons of gas it takes to fill it up and get your MPG and see how it compares with what it should be. good luck

Get a tune up. Gauges arent really accurate they just give you an idea. Actually calculate your mileage.
I use a half tank on my car in about 2.5 days but its because I drive almost 70 miles a day to and from work. I dont have a Mustang.

I find on the 05 and newer mustangs, the tank is extremely small so people watching the gauge assume it's eating gas when it's not... (I drove one and I thought mine was eating gas when it wasn't as I filled over 3/4 of the tank for $25 (when gas was $2.30)

V6 mustangs suck gas, there is really nothing you can do about it. The V6 can actually get worse gas mileage than the V8.

Try changing your fuel filter and run some Sea Foam in your tank. You might try checking your air filter as well.
