Seasonal allergies are common in dogs and cats. If your cat is shaking his head a lot, be sure to take him to your vet and have his ears checked. Allergies cause itching, which causes scratching, which can cause yeast infections in the ears. Ear mites are another possibility, unrelated to the allergies. Get it checked! Excessive shaking and/or scratching risks serious injury to the ear, and infection - if left untreated - can kill them eventually.
Finally, if your cat is unvaccinated (CVRPV) he may have, in addition to allergies, an upper respiratory infection. Look for mucus around the eyes and nose.

He might be allergic or have a cold. If it seems serious and is irratating him, you might want to go to the vet. If it is only in the Spring and he is eating and behaving normally (excluding the sneezes and head shaking) then he will probably be fine.

he could be sneezing due to allergies but the shaking of the head sounds more like he may have ear mites.the only way to tell for sure is by having the vet to check him out.

Oh yes, one of ours in particular gets more sneezy during the fall. And given that it's spring there is lots for us all to sneeze over right now.

yes, cats can get almost anything that we can, maybe you should check this out with your vet because i know people with allergies and they feel terrible when they have them so your cat may feel rotten too and you can help your cat feel better.
good luck.
