Deuteronomy 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
18:10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or]
that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an
enchanter, or a witch,
18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or
a wizard, or a necromancer.
18:12 For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto
the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God
doth drive them out from before thee.
18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
18:14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened
unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee,
the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so [to do].

Before speaking of Satan etc, you really should read the text. Satan is not mentioned, nor hell, just destruction of "Nations," if the Hebrews give up Magick. Remember, your God used abomination, a word that is only a sign of disgust, nothing more damning.

I would say Christianity is an abomination for spreading their evil creations in trying to taint other relgions and belief structures. I would not say there was any evil in Magick because justice is built into the use of Magick while Christians believe in punishment never justice.

Absolutely not. Magick with a K at the end was the Crowleyan way, and Crowley may have been alot of things, but he was definately not fluffy. The K is added to differentiate between stage magic and energy magick. The K is also used by many Chaos magickians. Chaos Magickians are also anything but fluffy. In my own writing, I tend to use magic when writing of Witchcraft and Shamanic practices, but I add the K when I talk about Chaos Magick or Crowley. .... and sometimes I flip between them for SEO purposes. *coughcough* Spelling it with a Y (as in magyk, or magyck) could possibly be fluffy, however. Your friend, however, appears to be in the Wiclet category. This is the word that we non-Wiccans (here in my neighborhood) secretly call Wiccans when we go to Pagan gatherings and are totally dominated by Wiccans who insist that this is the "right" way to do it and anybody who doesn't agree isn't a "real" witch or Pagan or is nothing more than a "fluffbunny" or whatever and totally intimidate us and make us feel unwelcome so that in self defense we are forced to come up with a derogatory name for them to make ourselves feel better. (It means Cliquish Witches.)

Once upon a time when I was Christian, I didn't deny magicks reality, I just believed that it was the work of Satan, the great deceiver and that if I wanted to be in God's (Jehovah's) good graces and make him happy I would be a "good girl" and stay away from it. You see, I knew that those who practiced magick and those associated with those who practiced would not be resurrected when Jesus Christ came again to judge the living and the dead.

*whew* Thank the gods that I'm not Christian any more!

I hadn't noticed anybody in denial.

Americas got its necromancers on TV, its observers of times and diviners on the Internet and in magazines and newspapers, its charmers in the pulpit and priesthoods, its longings for real wizards.

I have seen scenes of animal sacrifice and spells written in human blood. If things went long enough they would be roasting sons and daughters as gifts to the gods.

I wonder how people who practice these things can expect to avoid judgment much longer.

We do not deny the reality of magick. I believe that it is just as real as the Grand Canyon. That is why God advised us to stay away from it. Satan is real, and his demonic power is real. He can use his power in many ways, ways that can even deceive those who are strongly grounded in the faith. That's why it is so dangerous. The dark powers of magick are no joke, they are very real and credible. Satan is originator of these forces, and that is why Christians should stay as far away from it as possible.

Why do you think Christians deny it, why most christians read harry potter for god sakes, and I know any spell in that book will work if used in the context of magic or magik however ya'all spell it. I have used the magic before, so I know it is real, just trying to convince wiccans were their magic really comes from is what offends them, thats why it says never to play with it.

The biblical version/prophecy of 9-11-01 is found in Isaiah 47.

Isaiah 47v12Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. 13Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. 14Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Believe or not, Ceremonial Magick is on it's way. Give it 500 years or so.

Well, I am a christian and I believe magic EXSISTS as well as witches, demons, worlocks and so on. Anything that God does not approve of is evil. There is no inbetween. There is only GOOD and EVIL.
When christians say they do not believe in magic they are probably meaning that they do not practice it.

Christians do not deny the reality of Satan and the "religions" (e.g., "Mackick") devised by him. That would be foolish.
