I think it's more than just a theory. The Bible has about as many interpretations as it has readers.

I've been thinking the same thing myself. Which led me to a path re-direction recently. I think it is very possible that the text that makes up the Bible was misinterpreted, edited, and that portions were completely left out. I used to think that the Bible was the inerrant Word of God because my church taught me that. Now, I trust what I know to be true inside. I don't need a Bible for that.

The Bible, written by man, but authored by God, is indeed an inspired book, and approved by God.
He lets the bad revisions and editions exist, because the truth that leads to everlasting life can be found in them also.

Is it just a theory? Is a theory just something you think up after a night of heavy drinking?
Or is a theory an explanation backed up by research, evidence and experimental testing.
The Bible indeed does contain numerous errors both in internal logic and in external fact.
That is not going to stop the Believers from using it to justify their next attempt to start the war to end all wars or their belief that they need to kickstart the end of the world

I have a hard time believing that the bible should be taken word for word.
There were no battery powered recorders or stenography at the time of Jesus. Anything that Jesus said would have had to be repeated several times by himself to be written down word for word.
That would be like watching a speech on TV and then later trying to write it down word for word.....

God divinely influenced the human authors of the scriptures in such a way that what they wrote was the very word of God. in the context of the scriptures, the word inspiration simply means “God-breathed.” inspiration communicates to us the fact the bible truly is the word of God, and makes the bible unique among all other books
because the scriptures are the inspired word of God, we can conclude that they are also inerrant and authoritative

Since the Bible was written by God through the agency of select men, is it not possible that it is absolutely true?.

Of course there are possibilities of things not being completely accurate. I mean, just look at the horrible english translations we have of the bible.
People can interject their own opinions and we wouldn't know...

Putting your entire belief into something that was written by man is foolish, and quite possibly dangerous.

The Originals was written by Men, Inspired of GOD and they won't have any errors.
The Bibles that came from them do. (Translations).
Ditto.........
