We can't let other countries control our destiny, Dog Sneeze. That's why it's important that we only withdraw when another government has done certain almost impossible things.

Because if you don't fight, the only thing foreseeable is defeat. The decision to go to war is not yours to make, the people who choose to attack you will make that choice for you. The only thing you have to figure out is whether or not you want to fight back.
As Leon Trotsky said during the Russian Revolution, " You may not be interested in War, but War is interested in you."
Shortly thereafter, he quit the revolution, left Russia and went into exile in Mexico to escape the violence. His enemies, followed him there and buried an axe in his forehead.

Makes the rich richer materially, the common folk poorer materially and in family. Most of the rich folks' kids weasel out of serving - especially if the parents are politicians or major contributors to the party supporting the war.

Because we have given it a chance. Sadly, Iraq is never going to turn into a happy place full of hearts and rainbows. All we're doing now is playing referee to their civil war. We gave them an opportunity for a peaceful democracy ... they continue to fight among themselves. Why should anymore people die when the point has already been proven?

That way is better for the economy. Keep the old military/industria complex in full gear.

Especially when it was started for such compelling reasons, like Bush's dad's honor. Since, it turns out, there's no WMDs or terrorist links to justify it.
