Hello, all:

This afternoon I found a stray cat on the steps of our apartment building, and by using his ear tattoo I was able to track his history a bit. It seems that his registered owner has vanished off the face of the Earth and that he was abandoned about two weeks ago -- at least that's how long he's been sneaking into our building and running to the third floor, presumably looking for his AWOL owner. :-(

We can't keep him ourselves, so I cabbed him over to our city's Humane Society. His name is Kelso, and here is a picture:

Whatever your religion or lack thereof, could you spare some prayers/magic/good wishes for him? He seems like a really sweet boy who just caught a bad break. Let's see if we can help him dodge the euthanasia bullet and get adopted ASAP.

Thank you for your help.

God's Kitty... LOL, yep, male and single -- and neutered (I knew this right away because cats only get the ear tattoo when they've been spayed/neutered).

Thanks, everyone, for all your kind prayers and wishes. :-)

Spirits of wood, water, fire and stone, heed my prayer and come swiftly to my aid. Place for me a ring of protection around Kelso that no harm will come to him. Spirit of the wind, I pray you, use your voice to whisper to the kind and loving so they may take Kelso into their home and give him peace.

May he find peace in a loving family.
Be blessed, little ghatten.

(I already have two cats, we can't have any more in the apartment buildings around here, and I have another cat on a "waiting list" for us to take once we get a place that lets us have more cats. Otherwise, I'd love to take him.)

Adopt the cat or at least bring him inside in the winter. If you don't want him to die outside or have him leave then bring the cat inside. Either adopt him into your own house or adopt him out to a home that wants him.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, provide a Home for Kelso, keep him from the sickle. Send someone to adopt him, thank you, in Jesus Name.
Also Father, Bless Prairiec also, for their Love and Compassion, in Jesus's Name.

I'll pass this along to everyone that I know. It breaks my heart to hear of someone abandoning their pet. For me, it would be like throwing a random family member out onto the street because I was tired of them.
