I have tried just about everything from chocolate to heat patches to Naproxin to get rid of my horrible painful menstral cramps. Can anyone suggest something else? Perhaps any herbal supplements that can cure the bad pain?

If naproxyn is not working for you, you may want to take a visit to the GYN dr. You may have endometriosis or cysts that are causing severe cramps. Sometimes birth control pills will help relieve painful periods if you have them bad every month. There is a new pill on the market that makes the period last 3 days only. Other than meds, you may use heat on your tummy for relief. Hope you feel better soon.

I completly got off of Sugar, cheese, soda pop, Junk food and that helped me get rid of bad menstral cramps. But that's just me. It could be different for other's. But for some of us females soda pop and sugar can cause a ton of bloating and bad menstral cramps.

What helps me that is if you are not working is One of the following (not all at once) Valerian Root, Passion Flower, Ginger, or Chamomille. I listed them from Strongest to not as strong. They do have Chamomille Tea and that may be helpful if you like to drink tea. But one of these herbal supplements maybe beneficial for you. None of them can cure it, But they sure are very 100% beneficial!

But just a warning they will make you sleepy. At least they did me and they may make you have an appetite for food as well. I think depending on which one you get you do need to eat with food, which is always a good idea, with these! Best of luck!

Drink a small amount of rasberry tea... Or better go get some rasberrys. only eat a small amount. You do not want to stop your menses with the rasberry (which will happen, if you eat too much, but next month will be ten fold) just eat a half cup or so and that should completely take your cramps away within an hour...

I agree with Jennor3(sorry if don't have this correct.Motrin 800mg t.i.d.(three times a day) and a heating pad might help.Stay hydrated for the water weight too.I'm going through this too since I got off the pill.I don't know how old you are but if you are under 35yrs and don't smoke, get on the pill.I'm not sure about you but it really helped me.The pill is not only for birth control but helps with hormones and heavy, painful periods.Once again blocking prostoglandins help a lot.Sorry for your pain I am experiencing it too.I was diagnosed with endometriosos!!!!
