ok so I need to know what to do...no "follow your hearts", "it's all up to you's", or "do what you think is bests" please.
I had 5 classes but dropped the one I had in ethics, now I'm failing, of all things, storytelling! I dont know how Im doing in nutrition but I got an A on the last project & a 100 on one of the tests. I'm doing ok in English if I get both papers in when Im supposed to and real estate is fine academically but I'm not sure if I'll fail due to absences(theres no way to check either, the class doesnt meet till tuesday & tomorrows the last day to drop.I get financial aid& I already have 12 units to my name(from previously) and I live in southern california. Eventually I want to be some sort of lifestyle counselor/diet coach, etc.I have a 18 mo. old daughter that my mom takes care of for me while Im at school.
Ok, breather, lol, on to the question.
what do you think would be best to do? Should I continue with all of my classes? Or which ones should I drop? ...........

MOST OF ALL...Should I transfer to another community college from the one Im at now?(my mom is ok w/ that, she said shed still watch the baby) Do they even allow that? If they do, what is a really really good one in southern cali(in the valley southern cali, not like the fresno border)? What should my major be to accomplish this career goal? What classes would help me acheive this? Also I'd like to get into acting & singing but I know what a flipflop industry that can be so Im going with the diet/lifestyle thing, but should I take a few acting & singing classes just to be on the safe side? If I do transfer, wherever it is the community has to be at least moderately environmentally conscious. I've talked with the counselors & theyre no help. PLEASE, if you can offer ANY help with this, PLEASE do!!!!!!!!!!! Also, please no rude or pointless answers. thanks so much. (=

As it happens I have a good friend who is a lifestyle coach. She comes from a very poor family of immigrants, but she is a fully qualified physical therapist with ten years experience in the hospital and a Master's degree from a top school in counseling. She also is accredited by all the coaching organizations. She has one daughter who is about to be the class valedictorian at a very competitive school.

When you start "coaching" she will be your competition.

So, OK, let;s check out how well you are qualified for your future profession. A kid you can't take care of and you have to leave with your mother! You're getting dropped from a class for cutting. You're fantasizing about being an actress, and you are failing "storytelling!" You arent even taking any courses in biology, chemistry or nutrition although you want to be a diet coach. And you're asking anonymous totally unqualified people on Yahoo for advice.

I'm not trying to be rude, but let's face it - you are a mess, girl.

Get your butt in gear. Finish all your work for all these classes. Go and see your storytelling prof and see what you can do to get a pass. And get a realistic view of what you are going to do with your life, because at this point anyone who depended on you for lifestyle advice would be in deep poop.

I like to look at the positive side. For example, you are able to produce children. So, you got that out of the way. You have a beautiful daughter. Also, you have the sitter problem taken care of, thanks to mom's generosity. In addition, you are asking questions, which means that you are looking for solutions. This is a skill necessary to be successful in a career, no matter what choice you will make. I find that people who go into a career that interests them are more successful in that one particular career than people who do not look at the pros and cons of their career. Although you may have certain choices for a career right now, that doesn't necessarily mean that years from now it may be the same choise. I think that my recommendation in all of this is to look at your strenghts and weaknesses in academics. Get some kind of an assessment on the skills that you are proficient in. For example, if you are a good writer, mathematician, etc., then you can talk to a counselor who can guide you in a good direction. Plan a short term goal and look at the long term effects. In reality, you are planning for you and your daughter. Picture you both in the future and where you are both going to be? Obviously you want to become independent and be able to provide for yourself and your daughter, so that would be a great example of a future goal. Wish you all the luck for you and your future.
