Hi i have a question, i want get off oxycodone, i take them for my spinal injury, the doctor gave me 10 mg to be taken twice a day, but i only take them once a day, sence its not safe to half the pills, im stopping cold turkey, can anyone tell me how many days before the oxy is out of my system, so i can start on my heart healthy red wine again, i stopped the red wine when i started the oxys

If I were you, I would tell my dr. what i wanted to do. He can prescribe a lower dose of med, and instruct you how to wean yourself gradually from the oxycodone. You are correct, it is not safe to break them. But you can get some percocet which IS 5 mg of oxycodone. It can be dangerous stopping cold turkey, especially if you've been taking them for some time.

it would be better to wait at least 4 days,but you didn't mention how long you have been oxy to start so it would really be best for you to consult your dr for more help.
