find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself with a little treat once in a while:)

A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch
Keep to a 1,200 food intake
Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.
I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

Diets don't work , best plan is workout everyday if u want to lose weight and eat healthy. I just turned 41 in March and I work out everyday just to maintain my weight. I don't eat any fried foods at all , everything is baked. Snacks are strawberries and eat foods high in fibre because the fibre keeps you full so you don't get cravings. Diets fail most of the time it is all up to the individual to really want to make healthier choices and being our age it gets harder but even though it kills me sometime to work out I make myself do it.

They all work but you have to find the best one for you. I am 41 and I love Weight Watchers. I have lost 57 lbs and I find it easy to follow. They have 2 different programs now that you can follow and you can even alternate them. I pretty much eat whatever I want just smaller portions.
