I have a dvd recorder and it says it plays mp3's so why won't they play when they are on a dvd like a cd.

My dvd player is a recorder and records on rw- and R- and it says it will play mp3 so explain nwhy it wont play dvd mp3 disk rw- and R- those are the ones I used and it does play cdrw mp3 disks.

some dvd players simply cannot play some burned dvd discs even if they are not video and they are just mp3's.

There is DVD-R DVD+R DVD-RW DVD+RW
Check the front of your DVD player for the Logos. It is quite possible it does not support +-/RW but it should support DVD-R and it may support DVD+R
