Yes i know some of you might think she's a spoiled kid, but let me tell you why i give her such a highly priced car. she deserves it!! her grades are fantastic, she doesnt get into any trouble and i feel shes responsible enough. And im already a step ahead of you guys, i have already taught her the basics of a car underneath the hood. She knows how to change her oil, and recongnize when her car needs maintenance.

Okay, for everyone below that thinks teenagers don't need cars we do. Maybe you didn't have one when you were 16 but the times have changed and it's almost nessesary. We learn more responsibility and plus, I'm 16 and I need a car to get to school and sports. My parents have lives too. Anyways, I suggest maybe getting her a cheaper car for her first insted of a really expensive car, and after a few years invest in a better one. However, it doesn't really matter so if she wants a nice car why not. Ask her what she likes. I suggest Jettas for 16 year old girls a lot of my friends have them and I love them. I'm 16 and looking at the Jeep Liberty. Hope you find a good one. Good luck.

I dont know if you are a Parent or a teen--but in my opinion--16 year old kids dont need cars. Sorry, but teens today are ridiculously spoiled. Kids today need to catch the damn bus and foot it until they get a job to help pay for what they want.
Car accidents are the number 1 cause of death for teens. And if a kids does indeed get a car--they should only be given a VERY USED Toyota--meaing more than 8 years old. I cant believe these brat teens are driving brand new BMW's--that insane. They will only bang up a new car anyway because they cant drive! And any kid who gets a BMW at 16 will be begging mom & dad for money when they are 40.

First of all, it should be the kind of car that will let her learn how to change her own oil, and gap her own spark plugs.
She should be empowered to understand how a fan belt sounds when it's loose...and how a small leak in the radiator can cause the engine to overheat.
A first car should encourage a young woman to cover the torn seats with exactly the type of seat cover she really wants.
I highly recommend that you drop your price range to something that will really HELP her...Being gifted with a "perfect" car will only leave her without needed skills in her future. Part of the learning process in life is to have actual experiences.
$5,000 - $10,000 is plenty for a car that is safe, but not perfect. Save the rest for her wedding...trust me, you'll need it!

i would say the cheapest car that's in the range of 20,000- 40,000 is the ford fusion. in my opinion, i think it is very stylish and it gets pretty good gas mileage that will also save you money. it also beat the toyota camry and honda accord in style, handling, and quality, and is also very safe. a perfect all around vehicle for a reasonable price.

Toyota Corolla, or Camry, yet I would suggest a used car for a first car, not too old, and make her share some maintainance fees or work, to teach her to respect her car.

My p.c.. could be an older variety Toyota Corolla or Camry (years 1990-1997). yet my decision may be the Corolla. i admire those automobiles by fact of reliability and value. additionally the two automobiles are outfitted to final an prolonged time. As you strengthen older and can have the money for a sparkling, extra fancier automobile, the Camry and Corolla will nonetheless be going stable. whilst purchasing, continuously keep around throughly. in no way be in a hurry to get your first automobile. you pick to no longer merely examine for value--how low-value you may get one yet you pick protection and reliability. in terms of how lots you and your loved ones ought to spend, i think of with you being merely sixteen years previous, your loved ones shouldn't spend lots money. i think of that as much as $5,000 for a automobile is stable. Please look into the Kelly Blue e book and sites like Yahoo, MSN or Google automobiles and do slightly analysis on the suited values on Corrollas, Camrys, Honda Civics. touching directly to older or extra modern automobiles, fairly, i stumble on that many older automobiles run merely as stable by fact the extra modern fashions. on the subject of Toyota, the older automobiles lower back in the day did no longer have a gas pedal difficulty like the hot Prius. additionally older automobiles have been made with very stable craftmanship as destructive to in recent times, you're listening to some lot of automobile recollects. In regard on your mom suggesting the Ford concentration, I even have not heard any complaints approximately that automobile, yet your loved ones ought to reassess getting you a extra modern, extra costly automobile the 1st holiday. in my opinion, whilst my son and daughter turns sixteen, i don't sense it may be sensible for me to purchase them a sparkling costly automobile precise off of the bat. and that i hate to declare this yet what if the motor vehicle gets into an twist of destiny or in step with probability a finder binder, you will sense very undesirable that the hot automobile have been given broken. You and your loved ones will ought to spend money, no longer merely in restore yet with an automobile physique keep so as to make the hot automobile look comparable to it replaced into. rejoice with your seek.
