I am always wary of these "you have won the Big Prize!" spam e-mails, all the more as I don't play the ordinary UK lottery so don't know why they should e-mail me, unless they send these sort of e-mails out to everyone.

I am inclined to think they may fall into the same category as those "security alerts" from banks (or often the apparently same bank several times in one week!) to which the recipient has never belonged....

Remember that the normal method of contact by a bank for important or confidential information still seems to be good old-fashioned snail mail! I am not sure what the normal method of contact to National Lottery winners is, but doubt it would be this kind of e-mail!!

Delete the e-mail it's a scam. If it sounds to good to be true than get rid of it. That is of course you entered into that particular lottery. When claiming a prize you don't have to give credit card information. Never give out this information.
Every day I get these e-mails.

As long as you don't have to download anything or give away personal info such as credit cards, I'd say go for it.
