even news reporters were caught with beatings with the May day protest of the immigrants wanting to get legal papers to work in the U.S., I just don't understand it was a calm march when these police officers come out of no where and start beating people even women and children and even news reporters. Something needs to be done, and the Chief of Police needs to stop acting like nothings wrong or taking the police side because I hope people file complaints against the racist police department.What do you guys think about this horrible situation?

The police were almost certainly justified in taking action against the crowd of young men that was provoking them, but they went way beyond what was necessary. They used it as an excuse to become bullies with badges and sticks roughing up people who were obviously taking part in a peaceful rally. Nothing will happen unless good people stay on public officials and demand that the police be held accountable for their actions and reprimanded.

There are a few things to keep in mind here. Have all the videos taken been looked at. I dont mean just 5 seconds of the incident, I mean the whole video.
If the police have not been immediately sentenced to death and executed it is because, ( now here's a concept) Police have rights too. If there was something illegal done, the Officers responsible will be punished. Especially true in California.
Lets change the scenario a little. You live in a small town near the border. A Biker gang comes across the border and starts marching in your town demanding certain rights. Some start throwing bottles at you. Do you a) start kicking butt on your own. b) call the police and then complain when they dont do what you want them to, c) Join this group because you feel sorry for them and you fight the police with them.
By the way, have you ever fought with a woman. When they start kicking, gouging and bottle throwing, they get treated like any other attacker. You think a kid with a broken bottle or some other weapon is harmless? You aren't in the real world if you think that. If news reporters get in your face while you are already fighting someone, they might get tossed into the mix also. During a fight is the wrong time to relax and speak with reporters in a calm respective tone.

You were misinformed. The police were given orders to disperse the crowd when SEVERAL people threw bottles and rocks from bleachers. The police had every right to get the people out of that area. As soon as someone throws an item during a protest, the protest is no longer calm and safe for others. The news reporter got caught up in dispersal order and she shouldn't have been there. Women are not exempt from this type of order as well. They continued marching and were told to clear the area. They shoot non leathel rubber bullets and this is a crowd control technique that they are highly trained in. MANY LAPD officers are Hispanic and African American, so therefore they are not racist. It's unfortunate that the media spends more time talking about the LAPD breaking up one crowd and does not focus on the results of the protest. If we're not going to talk about the protest and what we hope will come out of it, then what's the point of protesting. Hopefully next May Day, people will be smarter and know better than to throw items at a police officer. It's their stupid actions, that resulted in a non peaceful protest.

They're not innocent, they are illegal aliens. That means they have broken the law. They are lucky if all they got was a beating, they are lucky they didn't get loaded back on a melon truck and driven back to there point of origin. This never would of happened if no laws were being broken.

Iseen the news footage on tv,those incoent women and children you speak of are illegal,whitch means they broke the law to even be here,does that mean I can break the law and you would feel sorry for me too? They were throwing bottles at the law,do you honestly think that the law should just lay down? My God people like you need a reality check.You act as if everything is like disneyland,are you a princess too?
