You can renew it on the same date that it expires but why wait unless there is more to the story.

In my state, you can get it renewed up to 3 months BEFORE it expires, which I think gives you plenty of time. Yet and still, some people wait to do it on the day it expires, and some even do it after. I don't know why, though. They sent me a form to renew it by mail months before the expiration date. They really push for people to renew it online here, too.

You just need to be there for renewal, before it expires. If you let it lapse, then you will have a problem. Most states allow early renewal of licenses, most are around 2months. Check your state for it's requirements. If you are military, and are going to be deployed at renewal time, you should contact the DMV and file documents. Military have some exclusions regarding licensing.

Like two months. Once the date comes closer the more likely you are to forget to renew it. Plus no one likes to go to the DMV so waiting until the last minute is sure to bring forth frustration.

i'm turning 23 this august and that they immediately renew it. it somewhat is conceivable that they might write you a letter to return in for a clean image or in case you're req. to placed on glasses to have a watch examination. i did no longer get a letter until eventually end of June and my license exp in Aug. so which you would be able to desire to get a clean one around June of 2009.
