Who needs socializing??? You or the dog? LOL..If you both need exercise, how bout taking your dog on long walks? That would be a great way for you both to gently get back in shape, and you wouldn't have to worry about being around other dogs. Or a regular park (as opposed to a "dog" park)?

okay may I make a suggestion about staying out of a dog park the dog owners that go to the dog parks are morons and if there starts anything with your dog they usually just leave , Plus the dogs usually come home with fleas and other nasty little thing attached to them . Ewwww..... No thank you to dog parks . You would be better off taking him around your neighborhood instead of dog park . good luck to you and i hope i helped.

If you know your dog isn't dog agressive then you should be able to take him in there and let the other dogs sniff him and get to know him and everything should be fine. If your dog is dog agressive then you shouldn't go to a dog park because you don't want him to hurt any other dogs or be hurt. If you aren't sure if he's dog agressive try intoducing him in a neutral (not his house or territory) to another dog. I take my dog to dog day care and a few butt sniffs was all it took to socialize him with the 60 other dogs there. Good luck.
