I agree that as a Christian and human I am weak. Jesus is my comforter and my hope and my strength. And I most definitely am to weak without him as my saviour. Jesus died for people like me. Religion doesn't have much to do with Jesus though.

Most people in the world ARE religious and it is not because of weakness. It is because we were designed to be immortal and to be curious about God as well as the unknown.

We do have the liberty to stay separate from God, keep this life for ourselves, and go to eternal punishment after judgment day, but most people dont consider self-condemning actions a strength.

I think youre also missing the obvious fact that humans ARE weak when it comes to death and disease. We have very little control over what happens to our bodies, or when we die. We cannot reverse the death process. And from a secular standpoint, you have no idea what happens after you die much less have any control over it.

A wise man once said that fear doesnt make you weak, but gives you the courage to do the right thing when the time comes. And when God comes to give you a chance at redemption, will you do the right thing?

Can't quite categorize Martin Luther King, jr. as "weak," although Al Sharpton has made a business of preying on the less astute worshippers. What liberty or freedom do you seek, freedom from conviction, faith, hope and charity or do you believe all martyrs are suckers and all poets rant about a fictional soul? There are many "organized" religions today which do offer less satisfaction than a loaf of bread or can of beans, but what about the ones which have been around since before God left Chicago and Mayor Daley took over?
I have yet to meet anyone whom hasn't borrowed a few bucks from a co-worker until payday or some other form of help and a person who prays is just borrowing a bit of help from his inner strength or personal god. Not likely that I am going to meet an atheist in a foxhole, is it?

Our belief sets us free. We have perfect liberty in Messiah Yahshua because we no longer have to doubt or fear.

I would agree with you about "Organised Religion" but not all believers belong to an organized religion and not all people in an organized religion are there because they are weak.

This is like asking Are all Athiest enflamed by hatred for Christians because they feel threatened by them? Kind of irritating isn't it. So why don't you just stop?

By the way educated athiest guy. It's "can't face their own mortality". And by the athiest own admission in answer to my questions humans have evolved a set of guidlines that even athiests follow. Are you too weak to embrace liberty and freedom?

Hey Marty lay off my glass of wine in the evening. Its for my stomach! Really!

Sometimes. I'm a Christian and I see that in some personalities. But I'm far from a natural rule follower and I hate tradition. I think that's a stereotype. Sometimes people see surrendering your own pride as a weakness. For example: forgiveness. What takes more strength? Forgiving someone or hating? Surrendering your own desires and sovereignty is difficult. Jesus knew that when he died for people. Anyone else's idea of a God would have just smote everybody. It takes more strength to be humble and follow God I think.

"Organized Religion is the Opiat of the masses, god is a drug just say no" Karl Marx

Organized religion was a way to control the uneducated, supersticious peoplein past times. A way to scare them into doing what the churches wanted them to do. and a way to get them to give money to the churches. ie: A type of ancient brainwashing.
If people would put as much time and money into the problems of the planet that we live on it would do a lot more good for everyone. If the planet dies we all die,and no god or bejus can save us from that.

There is no comfort in this world for a true believer. It is tremendously difficult to follow the teachings of Jesus and live in our fallen society. While I am very thankful for my many blessings, which start with my beautiful family, I find it very hard to stomach the perpetual chaos that we all live in day to day. I try to be positive and live a Christ-like life, which I am criticized for....but I've tried not living for Christ and I wouldn't trade what I have now for any thing in this world.
The only comfort I have is that I know that He loves me unconditionally and someday I am going to have eternal love, peace and joy in my Father's house!! Until that day, I will serve Him and do my best.

Unfortunately, for some people that answer is yes. Some cannot fathom there being no afterlife, some think they need a set of guidlines to live, some do it to fit in, some do it to be "holier than thou", some do it to be "right"

That is definitely not all christians, though.

The answer of this question is YES!
How beautiful the life with a guide, not living like a weirdo! Not living by your own style!
Listen, maybe u see religion don't make u free, maybe that's just your thought, but if u granted it,if u looked to the religion from the positive side,u would find life is wonderful:)

I would ask a different question: A Godless life- a barrier atheists use to protect themselves from having to live a good, sinless life? I think religion makes you atheists feel boxed in and like you can't do what you want. What you want is not necessarily the best thing for you. Not for simply religious reasons. Can't understand that the God who made and gives you free will is letting you lead this life? He gave you everything and you can't accept it and use it wisely. Your free will is not a license to do whatever it is you do; you must use it to do God's will. I say atheists are the weaklings because they can't do what's right.

My beliefs are liberty and freedom.

How do you face your mortality (not immortality silly)?

Why on earth are you all so afraid of believers? Why are you so afraid of God? Are you that unsure of your disbelief? Has someone brainwashed you to believe God does not exist? Is it just a control issue with you?
