I may be one of the greatest worriers in the world. lol and I am pretty sure I got it from my grandmother, as she was even worse. She would make spagetti sauce for sunday's dinner on a saturday night and then worry all night long and get no sleep because she was worried that it may not taste good. (repeatedly she would do this)
Sometimes I think it is just in a person to worry. When you do try and stop. Write it down and take a step away from you in your mind and think logically what the outcomes could be. If you worry like crazy, go with it- step by step what could happen and then think in your mind if you could fix any potential outcome- 99% chances are yes, so then think- hey if the worst happens, it is ok I can deal with it. Then remind yourself that you have a family, are loved, have a roof over your head, have food to eat, and probably a job too- step further away- how many people in the world have all of what you have that is good? Not many. Sometimes putting things into perspective helps to give you a sence of clarity and makes you realize that even if the worst thing happens, it is all going to be ok. And then put it back into perspective, think BIG about how important what you are worrying is actually about. And remember if you ever worried about it before- and what happened then. You turned out just fine. So it's going to be ok.
Good luck, and don't worry about worrying!

That is a pretty broad question. What are you worried about. Is it the things in your own life. Things or problems in the world. To worry is not very beneficial to you or your health. I would say if it is out of your control then it is really pointless to worry about it. I also say this as not a very worrisome person I guess I let my mother do the worrying for the both of us. Just bush it off and think positive.

Examine what the specific worry is and examine what you can do to reduce it. If it's more global: Relaxation methods, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Spirituality etc. work for many people. If it interferes with your life functioning see a counselor.

I wish I could conquer this one! Sometimes talking with a friend or keeping a diary on your feelings. As you get older the worries increase. Praying for some people. Depends on the person. If you have anxiety around your worries and maybe your worries shouldnt be as worrrysome as they are then help maybe with medication or meditation therapy.

Several options to possibly use all at the same time; Try to resist starting something that could possibly "turn into" a worry...I agree Praying is a good tool....taking a nice hot bath is good from time to time to relax...and also like the other lady wrote.."writing" your thoughts and feelings down helps me quite a bit..Take care!

Try to write them down in a journal. Make a worry ladder of all of your worries. Put an empty chair in front of you and pretend you are counseling yourself.
Try talking to God about your worries.

Cut them off at the source, for example, if you worry about getting a speeding ticket, then dont speed.

Involve yourself with other activity such as exercise, join a club to your liking- surround yourself with positive people-even reading could help.
