So much of the bible is a fable, do you agree? Do you really believe Adam and Eve? They only had 2 sons, but where did they find woman to marry? Adam lived to 930 years old? Noah was 600? Lots wife was turned to a pillar of salt?

i totally believe the bible, it's the inerrant word of god.
science has already traced all of creation back to a single father and a single mother. you know, you should really read the bible, in it's entirety, in context and study it. you'd learn the answers to all the questions you are asking.

"Do you believe everything you read in the bible?"
I believe everything in the bible as it was meant to read. That is, I believe that which was written to be literal to be literal and that which was written to be figurative (such as God having wings) to be figurative. How do I tell? Just like reading any other book or talking to someone else.

"Do you really believe Adam and Eve?"
Yes.

"They only had 2 sons, but where did they find woman to marry?"
Actually, they had at least three (Cain, Abel and Seth). Plus they probably had additional children that aren't named in the bible.

"Adam lived to 930 years old? Noah was 600?"
Maybe there wasn't as much harmful stuff like uv rays back then.

"Lots wife was turned to a pillar of salt?"
Maybe it was a pillar of salt or something that just looked enough like a pillar of salt that it didn't really matter. I doubt Lot stayed around long enough to test it chemically.

It is only a fable because you want it to be but that is your right and i respect that. In answer to your questions. Yes they lived that long. No big deal. Where did the 2 sons find women? If you read genesis , doesn't it say that man was created on the 6th day? Then doesn't it further state that Adam and eve were created after the 7th day . Which would make it the 8th day. Well then doesn't that mean there was at least 2 days in between ? Well the sons took wives from the people that were created on the 6th day. And I wish He would turn my mother in law into a pile of salt!!

I believe that all 66 books of the Bible 'by his singular care and providence' have been 'kept pure in all ages' and are wholly inspired, infallible and authoritative . "the grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8, 2 Tim 3:16, 17)

[you asked]
Do you really believe Adam and Eve?

[my response]
I believe that Adam and Eve were our first parents.

[you asked]
They only had 2 sons, but where did they find woman to marry?

[my response]
Your are mistaken, they had many other children:

Genesis 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat SONS and DAUGHTERS:

Since this was right after the fall, there was no mutations or errors in their DNA and therefore they would have married their sisters.

[you asked]
Adam lived to 930 years old?

[my response]
Yes

[you asked]
Noah was 600?

[my response]
No - he was 950 years old when he died.

[you asked]
Lots wife was turned to a pillar of salt?

[my response]
She was transformed into a statue of metallic salt

I really do beleive in Adam and Eve and Noah's Ark, etc even though they seem like fables there is much scientific probability they indeed happened. I don't believe everything I read in the Bible however. It was the Catholic Church that bound all those writings together. For example, the Songs of Solomon. I find it to be just poetry and do not believe it is something revealed from God. Also, I believe that changes have been made in some areas and mistranslations. Overall though, I believe it to be the true and revealed word of God.

I do believe everything. Most of those things that you feel are unbelievable can be attributed to mankind being closer to perfection than we are now, only after Adam's sin did mankind grow old, get sick and die-Romans 5:12 Also, they married thier siblings due to once again being closer to perfection, and not having the genetic concerns we have today. And the miraculous events, such as Lot's wife turning to a pillar of salt is very believable if you do have a strong faith in God. If he could create the universe, mankind, and all the wonderful living things, how could he not have the ability to turn someone into a pillar of salt? Revelation 4:11

Do you believe everything you read in the bible?
Yup.

but where did they find woman to marry?
The bible doesn't have to list every living creature to be valid.
The accounts of the loaves and fishes didn't include women.
Genealogies usually consisted of "son of".
It was a cultural thing.

Adam lived to 930 years old?
Noah was 600?

Why not? Different age. Is wasn't until Psalm 90:10 that we see it reduced to the present 70-80 years.

There's even MORE unbelievable stuff in there but I'll let you discover it.
Proverbs 25:2

Cherish the quest.

Yet another simple question asked to Christians to prove they aren't totally insane, and they can't do it.

If some parts makes you feel all fuzzy inside, that's nice. If you think some prophecies came true, that's great. But it is absolutely not all true. There is no way. God told me. It's Ok to admit this. Really.

When you say Lot's wife was actually turned into a pillar of salt, and then talking with your pastor will help you understand it- it's a metaphor. Or a story. There, saved you some time. Do you honestly wonder why people think you're insane when you say stuff like this?

Adam called the woman that God presented to him in the Garden of Eden, Eve, for it means, 'Mother of all living'! see Genesis 3:20
If you look at the mitochondrial DNA of many races throughout the world today, and trace it back, amazingly, you come to ALL humans present on earth today, having their origin from just ONE mother. The 'most recent common ancestor '(MRCA) of any set of organisms is the most recent individual from which all organisms in the group are directly descended. The term is most frequently used of humans, in this case, EVE. The equivalent term concestor was coined by Richard Dawkins.

The MRCA of a set of individuals can sometimes be determined by referring to an established pedigree, such as Hebrew ancestry. In general, however, it is impossible to identify the specific MRCA of a set of individuals, but an estimate of the time at which the MRCA lived can often be given; such estimates can be given based on DNA test results and established mutation rates, or by reference to a non-genetic genealogical model.
Yes I believe everything I read in the Bible, that has proved itself accurate with the 2nd Century copies of the original writings of Old and New Testament Scriptures!
The 'Mitocondrial Eve' traces humanities ancestors back even much farther(over hundred thousand years) then the MRCA, which leads us to EVE some 6,000 to 10,000 years ago!!!

on condition that i'm no longer christian any more, i can't acceptable answer this question... yet i'd pick to teach that, a recommendations extra likely than no longer, countless the christians answering (quite sure to) this have not yet come on the point of reading the full of the bible themselves. So no matter if or not they have self belief each and every thing THEY examine contained in the bible, they themselves can't surely say that they have got self belief each and every thing it really is WRITTEN contained in the bible. playstation : "Bryan is Lyin'" about human beings being swallowed with the help of, then recovered stay from, tremendous fish contained in the Med. Please cite your source, Bryan. Did you're making that one up your self or are you purely passing on BS that somebody else fed to you?

I'm glad you said that. I wasn't sure of the age factor.

You know Fundamentalists say the Earth is 6,000 years old.

If the JEWISH year dates back to the Exidous at about 5,780 years and Adam lives 930 years, how do we get 6,000 years for the age of the Earth unless ADAM was alive when MOSES was alive!

That's a pradox

I believe in God and Jesus

But that 6,000 year thing is definately being on drugs

And YOU just help firm it up in my mind. I trust your figures on ADAM and NOAH are CORRECT

Thank you

You, established, at least, that we are CLOSER to 7,000 years old rather than 6,000 years old

I put forth 9,000+ year minimum based on Genesis and Exodus

Personally I hold with Science but I also hold with God

Science says we are 15 billion years old and the Earth and Sun are 5 billion years old

The Bible said CREATION was on day 1 and the Earth and Sun were firmed up on day 4

That's 2/3... If my math is correct 2/3 of 15 billion is 5 billion.

That AGREES with SCIENCE

Now, how do YOU feel about THEM apples!

Eh, serpent!
