But under the same circumstances the Christian god needs to butcher and torture someone?

I keep saying it. If I can be more mature than that god, he doesn't deserve my attention, much less my worship.
I'd never torture my children for making a mistake. They drive me nutso sometimes and I get frustrated and even sometimes disappointed with their poor choices, but I would never EVER want to cause them harm. If I can be that loving, why can't a god do the same, if not better?

The Christian God doesn't need to butcher and torture someone. Everyone makes mistakes and God knows that. He wants us to encourage and help and support them. The difference comes when we enable them. God is all about forgivness and encouragement. I'm proud of you for encouraging and helping your loved one. That's what we're supposed to do!

I think that is great that you are an encourager, but God does not butcher and torture anyone. If people are being tortured it is because of the devil, or the consequences of their sin! If you are going to place blame, please place it where it belongs. it is not God!

"I the Lord, God, will forgive whom I will, but of you it is required to forgive all men". D&C
It is natural for us to care for others, to sorrow for those that have sorrow and to want to help and uplift them. That is what God taught us, to love Him and to love our neighbors as ourselves. When we help others, it makes us feel good inside as well.
God does the same for us. He encourages us through others and through the comfort of the spirit. However, when we continue to ignore His teachings, He will chastise us to humble us and bring us to acknowledge our errors and to recognize His role in our lives. What you call the meaness of God is His way of humbling us to bring us back into obedience to His ways. We have to acknowledge His hand in our lives and ask for His assistance in the decisions we make so that He can bless us with His spirit to guide and comfort us.
It works, I have lived by it for over half a century.

Put religion and faith aside.

You are a person, people make mistakes in life, and you are a better person for being there to support them.

So you are better than God? TAKE YOUR MEDS FREAK.
Getting out of your self righteous tree, reading past the OT, and actually doing the things you say you do would be a start. I personally think it is B.S. however.
