Why? Because you've obviously never heard of the religion of Islam...that's why, ya dolt!

Almost every religion has waged wars and done things they're not proud of, but silly little atheists like you only like to pick on the Christians, because you know our religion is true...and you're terrified of this fact!

You'll admit it eventually, but for now, just go back to acting like defiant little children. It seems to be all that the boisterous atheists are good for. The ones who don't bash Christians are fine in my book, I just don't happen to agree with their decisions.

One reason could be that the Christinaity has been a religion of the ruling class who used it to dominate and oppress lower classes as well as other countries. I mean, if you look at the history of both Western and Eastern Europes all these Crusades and conquesta....they were all done under the flag of Jesus and instillment of Christianity to the people of the other ethnicities. Im not saying that Christianity is the only religion who does that....but nevertheless.

stop making that mistake. You really want to know about slavery, I suggest you actually read facts. for example, whites didn't start it....

the Bible never condoned slavery. You will see that people had slaves BUT slaves then and slavery are two very different things. we know what slavery is as described now, but a slave in ancient societies (not exiled, those among the populous) was a person that hired himself out to work, as to have a home and provisions, but he gave up his own free will; he could plea for his freedom after seven years, but certain restrictions, such as if his master had given him a family they had to stay as the master's property if the master so chose, applied. Basically, a slave was an owned servant, though in some societies, especially the Jweish, you could not beat them.

Why do you choose Christianity as your scapegoat? if some Catholic priests do something, that's out of THEIR own will, not the will of others. No one agrees with that practice other than rapists really. And rape is a sin.

I could go on and on about the illintentions and flaws with just about all beliefs, but I won't. knowledge is harmful without wisdom.

Christianity in its most fundamental state is never oppressive, its not elitist and its not hateful. Jesus taught to love our neighbors, not oppress them. he even teaches how to deal with oppression. The key word you used is corrupted. You can't blame metal for the rust that corrupts it. You need to put the fault where it lies. And when a man corrupts a church, it isnt the church that is in the bad, but rather the one who corrupted it. Try not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

It's so oppressive that it contributes many millions of dollars every year to relieve the suffering of the poor, ill, homeless, and other ailing people. It's so awful that untold numbers of people have found new hope in its teachings. Yes, Christianity has certainly made its historical blunders, and nobody's denying that. But so has Communism, Muslim theocracies, and many other groups responsible for human rights abuses. Christians aren't the only ones you can point a finger at.

Religion as a whole is oppressive.

They are all about control of the masses. Brainwashing gets people to think they are about something very different.

Even more, look at how many want to create laws based on christian teachings to discriminate against people and outlaw stuff that is none of the christian's business. That is where a lot of today's christian oppression is.

Having a bad day? All the things you have listed were done by man, not God. Man is born into sin. Read the Bible and you wll see that none of those things is condoned by Christ.

Christians worship the almighty dollar first and foremost.

It's not so much that Christianity is oppressive as that it has been used by oppressors. If it wasn't that, it would have been some other thing.
