The money changers that Jesus cursed were using the house of God to make money. So I would say those preachers on TV that promise blessings if you send money. As for the rich man. He told Jesus he obeyed all the commandments and wanted to know how to get to heaven. Jesus response was give up all the money and follow me(Jesus). This is much harder to pinpoint because it is simply a good man who wants and tries to live a righteous life but still puts the money before God. This could be your next door neighbor. I don't follow the news very closely so I don't know which rich people profess to live a good christian life. I would have to lean towards politicians. They claim it is for others but who is it that really benefits.

The money-changers are all who find themselves living under the yoke of believing that money has power and God is of little importance, because there is money to be made today. The rich man is all who place their trust in money, and has nothing to do with the amount one has accumulated. To be materially alive is to be spiritually dead. When you jump from a fence, you can not land on both sides. You either believe that money solves the problem or you know that God alone is God, and so move away from false beliefs here and hereafter.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I am a Christian and I am completely, totally broke, living with a friend off a small allowance. I do not have enough money to buy a needle let alone a camel to pass through it.
I also do not care a bit for Bush or his moral fantatics.
I think the money changers would be the lawyers myself...even though I do have a real nice one.

Yo instruct's occasion isn't an occasion of latest money being created; in basic terms of how an identical little bit of money generates particularly some financial pastime over the years. And money introduction has no longer something to do with the government "printing" money. it fairly is a metaphor it fairly is consistently abused. False teachers who beg for money can be money changers.
Rich man, well, maybe a unsaved rich man. I don't know who
is saved and who isn't . There are rich Christians and they
know how to handle their money. That's a difficult question
to answer for today.
Jesus was speaking about the rich man trusting in his riches
to get him to heaven, instead of Christ.

The mega-churches with bowling alleys, huge Bible bookstores, coffee shops, etc.
And I can tell you a story...
I went to an anti-gay event put on in churches all over the country called "Love Won Out," which is done by Focus on the Family. The MC bragged that there was "one of the best bookstores on homosexual issues" set up in the lobby. Over 50 books. Many of them were very expensive, $30 or more. This on top of the $60 entrance fee. That story came back to me there.

Money changers refers to people who charged huge percentages to convert between Hebrew and Roman money. They set up shop in the church to sell sacrificial lambs and then ripped off the Jews who came to worship.
So who today is ripping off worshipers. Televangelists for one.
