Go back and get your GED. That will allow you to enlist, plus it will help you in the future.

The answer is maybe. The army has a program called GED plus in which you attend a school at Fort Jackson for a month before you start basic training and take the tests for your GED. You get payed while at this army prep school and go to basic and whatever job school you qualified for and pick afterwards. You need to have a 50 or above on the asvab and the program needs to be open. Unfortunately congress mandates the percentage of people who can join the army with a GED and it seems to have been met already so the program is closed for new enlistees at least until the new fiscal year, about mid september. You can still join if you have or are in the process of obtaining 15 college credits, but they need to be completed before you ship. My advice, look into adult school, depending on what school and state it is it might be faster and easier to get in the army then wait for programs to open. Also if you haven't taken the GED because it is too hard, you may have a tough time passing the asvab

Having been in the military and I was a high school drop out. I know that if you go and get your G.E.D your good. There is no such thing as getting a waiver you have to have a hs diploma or a G.E.D

talk to a recruiter. If your 18 all you have to do is pass the asvab test and get a physical that shows your healthy enough to do certain jobs. I'm pretty sure passing is a 33 or 34 and it includes some algebra, paragraph comprehension, and technical questions (ex: what does a catalytic converter do?) oorah

I don't think so, although they might do a waiver. But most likely, no. When my boyfriend joined, the process was really strict and whatnot. But go talk to a recruiter.

Just ask your local recruiter.

Now a days they are looking for people to enlist. No one like to go to Iraq and Die.

So they lower the bar. Even if you are a convicted felon you can enlist.

you can but you have to make a minimum score on an Asvab test which may be difficult if you dropped out

We have enough idiots in this world don't be another statistic. I've been in the Air Force for 12 years and if high school is kicking your behind the military does not need you.

Used to be yes, then they got tougher. Nowadays, if your drug and crime record is clean, you are intelligent and give evidence of not being a total loser, they probably will take you. Talk to a recruiter.
