The skin has many functions, 5 would be:
1. protects the body from the environment
2. protects the body from water loss
3. temperature regulation
4. protects us from infection
5. produces vitamin D with help from the sun

Skin injuries would include:
1. cuts
2. burns
3. blisters
4. sunburn
5. puncture wounds

I'm not totally sure what you are asking when talking about skin repair. The categories though are:
1. primary healing
2. delayed primary healing or tertiary
3. secondary healing
4. epithelization
