I had Hawaiian Tropic and she made me purchase a lotion from Hollywood Tans. Did she just want to sell me the lotion or is there actually a good reason why I couldn't use the tanning oil I bought at the drug store?

they tell you not to use that stuff if you're using a bed or stand up. plus, it's oil which can be messier than lotions.

u can`t use regular mass-market lotions/oils in the lie-down beds, because ingredients used in them damage the acrylic...but i`m not sure why she wouldn`t let u use it in the stand-up booth...it is a fact that lotions formulated for tanning bed use are more beneficial & provide better results for indoor tanning, but that wouldn`t explain why she kept u from using it...perhaps she was afraid the oil would leave a residue inside the cubicle or something, & she didn`t want to have to clean it later!!!

well there is indoor tanning oil and outdoor. I think that the difference between the two are the way they protect you skin. indoor is unnatural sun and outdoor is natural.

Sounds like she just wanted you to buy th elotion from her... sorry! Unless you had a tan accelerant that was meant for outdoors - then it wouldn't help you in the booth.
