Rome airports - Fiumicino to Ciampino?

Question

We have 2:55 hours to get from Rome's main airport (Fiumicino) to the Ryanair airport (Ciampino). How far are they from each other? Can we make in in time? and, whats the best/cheapest way that wont take too long. Please Help!

to best way is to take a taxi (with the car takes max 1 hour, usually 40 minutes)

or

train to Termini and from Termini bus to ciampino (ryanair bus)

or

train to Termini and from Termini metro to Anagnina and bus to Ciampino (too long)

Abou the taxi price : now there is a fix price from Airports to Rome and is 40 euro ... no bad!

From Fiumincino there are also a lot of private cars to take you in. They cost approximately fifty euros and you can hire them right there. They congregate around the exit from the luggage area. These are lovely Mercedes Benz usually and air conditioned for the summer. The drivers usually speak good English and they too take you right to your destination in Rome. Just make sure when they approach you or vice versa, that you get the price up front. Unlike cabs, it doesn't change becuase of traffic or an impromptu Roman demonstration! These cars are reputable and I use them all the time. I understand there is nothing like this at Ciampino. People I know who have used Ciampino prefer Fiumicino. Fiumicino was all just redone for International filghts and easier to navigate. Have a great trip!

They are actually pretty close but if you are planning to get a cab, be very aware of the tour the cabbie takes. Italians love to steal from tourists. Check if there is a bus...usually there is.
