I don't have a monkey.

The mathmatical answer to this question is 8 times as on the 8th jump, the monkey gets to the 10M mark (and thus doesn't need to slide down).

However, the practical answer is actually 9 (assuming that jumps are measured at the highest point your body can reach)

Here's why. If you know anything about climbing, one must position a body part (hand, arm, finger, leg, etc) over the item being climbed to pull yourself up. Thus you actually have to reach slightly above the height of the object climbed in order to grasp the "edge" persay and climb up the rest of the way.

So on the 8th jump, the monkey would reach the 10M height, however, he still needs a centimeter of height or so more in order to grasp the ledge and pull himself the rest of the way up.

If the jumps are measured by where the bottom of the feet are, then the answer is still the standard 8.

Every time it jumps, it has a net gain of 1 meter.

However, once it reaches 7 meters, it only needs to jump up once to reach 10. So the answer is 8.

The eight jump would take him to the top of the pole - assuming that "jumping" and "climbing" are the same thing.

This is a religion and spirituality question how????

What has the question got to do with Religion and Spirituality?
But the answer is 5 goes anyway to take him to the top but supposing he fell down 2 again then it would take him 6 to get to the top.
But then, if he kept falling down 2, he'd never stay at the top, would he?
