so according to scripture jesus is coming back to judge the living and the dead. from there all those who believed in him will live for all eternity in heaven, and all those who didn't go to hell. right? will there be any need for the universe after this or will god destroy it? will the souls in heaven still have free will, and thus will they be sent to hell if they become like satan? or will they humbly worship god for all eternity, without sin? if heaven loses all it's souls will it get them from hell? the reason i ask this is because we are told god created the tree of knowledge to test man's obedience, because he didn't just want a bunch of mindless sheep. but if that's all we become and the time on earth is so short when compared to all of eternity, then what's the point of it all? those in heaven are going to be mindless followers anyway, and those in hell are going to be the only ones asking questions. can anyone explain this?

Why would there be no need for a universe and its wonders anymore? Anyway, nonsense aside, heaven is a temporary holding place for believers. The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ says that a new heaven and a new earth will be created. Man will live on the new earth. Until that new earth is created, man will live in heaven with God. If you think that living with an eternal God will be boring, you don't know much about Him. His love and His glory are eternal, and there is nothing wrong with being bathed in that for eternity. Enjoying everything that God created, learning more and more about it, and Him, will never grow old. Mindless? We will be like Him. The Bible promises that. In hell, the only question asked will be, "Why didn't I believe?" Oh, and they'll probably be screaming, pleading and cursing God, as if it's His fault they're there.

The world will not come to an end. Those alive in the time of Christ's second coming will be judged.

God is going to set up His Kingdom here on earth, and it will be ruled by Jesus. Those alive who are saved will continue to live on this earth, marry, have children, for 1000 years. In that thousand years, Satan will be bound.

But, like you said, God wants us with a free will, so at the end of the 1000 years, satan will be loosed again to tempt those who have never been tempted.

No follower of Christ is a mindless follower. We are to be alert, know the mind of God, and be able to discern, choose right from wrong.

No, there are no mindless followers of Christ. We have to be especially on the alert, because we face temptation every day.

Your's is a disturbing question that I, as a believer, have pondered for many years. As for what heaven is like, the only answer I have for that is that it is beyond man's ability to grasp much less actually be able to speculate about. Also, heaven is permanent for those found worthy of it and hell,- I guess the same thing. As for the point of all of it, I'm stuck for an answer.Alot of people don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon who long for eternity in heaven with God. And in hell, I don't believe/think the damned will be asking questions amidst the stench of burning flesh and the never-ending screaming and agony.

If you are a spiritual being in heaven, you can't:
a) murder
b) committ adultry
c) steal
d) etc.., etc,...

Sin is mostly based on material, physical things, but we won't have those any more. Sin is also based on greed and envy, but if you are totally and competely happy and at peace, who do you envy? Without these distractions, I don't really see us having much of a desire or means to sin any more.

To put it in human terms: think about being in the middle of the most wonderful thing that you have ever done, the most relaxed and enjoyable time you have ever had. Would you leave that moment to go out back and kick your dog for no good reason? It just wouldn't happen.

That doesn't mean we will be mindless at all, just blessed. Are you mindless just because you enjoy a trip to Hawaii? THINK about it.

We will live in the perfect harmony without limitations of the laws of physics, it is going to be great!! : ))))

I believe that this earth is going to be destroyed by fire, but God can build it back very soon if He wants it back. Jesus is preparing a place for us, it is going to be great. Consider it took only 6 days to create this universe. : )

Free will ends here. In heaven we will have the perfect understanding and we will not have the desire to do wrong.

Yes, we humbly worship God. I am happy to. If you do not like to worship God here, I do not think you will like heaven either. It is going to be a one big...HUGE..church.

No, we are not going to be mindless followers of God. We chose to be with Him. I trust He will not make us robots. It is going to be great.

Hell is going to be done with, so there is not going to be very many questions after they have got their punishment. : )

If you really want to know, then read on. Think about when God created Adam and Eve on the earth - what did he tell them to do? Fill the earth and subdue it. God created them to live on the earth forever. God hasn't changed in all the time between Adan and us. He still intends for humans to live on the earth. Psalms 37:29 says, "“The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” Nowhere in the Bible does it say that all righteous people are going to heaven.

God will destroy the universe and make a new, perfect one. Soul in Heaven will still have free will, but heaven is so great, you would not want to sin. sin will not exist anymore. God will not lose to the Devil.

You really don't want an explanation. You are just trying to belittle the believers. May the Lord have mercy on you. You are a stumbling block.
