I'm 6 mos out from surgery and have a lump on the ball of my foot. Also feels like I have a cord tied around my big toe. it's not real tight but I can feel it when I wiggle my toes. Higher heeled shoes are tolerable for a short period of time. I used to walk 4-5 miles daily, but when I try to do that my foot (the ball of my foot) really starts to ache. Surgeon says that my weight has shifted and the lump may go back to where it was or it may stay the same. I'm very disappointed with my surgery. Is there any hope that this will return to normal and I can walk to my hearts content? Is any further surgery needed to correct this?

After you walk try soaking your feet in fairly hot water with 1c. of Epsom salts. do this every day and see if you start to feel a little better. I can't tell you if the lump will disappear only time will tell. I've had many surgeries in my life and I don't trust in having them anymore. I've had many bad repercussions from surgery. I trust natural medicine and chiropractors for my therapies.

You could see another foot specialist for a second opinion. That might put your mind at ease and answer your questions.

my other suggestion would be to see a chiropractor, because your medical doctors says that your weight has shifted, chiropractors specialize in balancing your body.

I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

I had the same thing happen to me.
The lump in the ball of my foot turned into a hammer toe.

I had to have surgery done but did not turn out right. So in about two weeks I have to have another surgery done!!!!

I hope this one works.

Good luck.
