there is a cd cleaning kit you can buy at wal-mart that will repair the cd. so you can recover all data from it. then burn it to a new cd from a cdrw.

If a cd is severly scratched, its toast. You can try to put it in your computer and rip the tracks at the lowest speed setting of your CD burner. The slower you rip the cd, the better your chances are that it will not pick up too many "scratch" noises in the songs. If its really bad though, you might be out of luck. You can try to use cleaning kits or patching products then trying to burn the disk, but its not really worth the money buying the products when you can just buy another disk off Amazon for a couple of bucks.

The best way I found to save scratched CDs is using a device that buffs the scratches out. There are different types out there. There's one that I use that goes by different names but is the same product. It goes by Disc Dr. or DVD Dr. or Game Dr. It's a device your put the disc in and a buffing wheel rubs out (most) of the scratch on the suface. If the scratches are too deep, there isn't anything that can be done about it. The Disc Dr. goes for about $30. I say it's well worth it. It has saved me several times from having to rebuy a game or DVD. Memorex has a similar device. You can find them at Best Buy or Circuit City.

You can try using CopyCat, it's free and might help you get the data off of the CD:
