There have been some changes, but we must understand the context of the changes. They are not changes in major doctrinal issues, but usually minor changes. There are some translations of the Bible that are based not on the Received Text, but on some bad copies (that survived the more heavily used originals) called the "Alexandrian manuscripts". These bad copies contained errors and were therefore unused. The good originals were used to the point where they finally deteriorated. So the bad copies are seen as "older", which they are, but they are incorrect. Many modern translations are based upon these bad manuscripts.
the King James bible was based upon the Textus Receptus, which was the good copy. This is why many Christians tend to stick with this version.
The only real "change" has been in the translations, but if you go to www.e-sword.com, you can find downloads of all the different versions of the Bible, and compare scripture side-by-side, even across several versions. It's a great tool that basically replaces a concordance. You will find that the only changes in most places are simply restating the same idea a different way. The Textus Receptus is the closest to the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic.
My word of warning to you would be "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater". Don't throw out the entire Bible just because you find a minor change here or there. It doesn't change the Truth of God's Word.

The Revised Standard Version and the New Revised Standard Version both contain footnotes showing various differences in text between various documents. Many of them are of not-so-big importance, but a couple are: the most ancient copies of Mark omit the last 11 verses (some church theologies have a big stake in these verses), and about 100 verses from 2 Esdras (in the Deuterocanon/Apocrypha) were cut, probably deliberately.

Actually the opposite is true. We have ancient documents that read almost word for word with the manuscripts we use to make new translations from. Out of thousands of old manuscripts there is only about 1/2 of 1% variation. And the majority of that is variant spelling of names and places. There are no Christians doctrines affected by these variations. We know ever variant and we know where it is. The Bible is a solid document-and we know it.

Another unsubstantiated opinion. You must be referring to atheist scholars or other unbelievers. Real subjective scholars have been verifying the veracity of the Bible for years, including some of those who have unearthed discoveries proving the locations of cities and etc. that confirm the scriptures.
Come with proof or be quiet. Don't speak about what you have no knowledge of.

I am a bible scholar/theologian, and NO, the king james version of the holy bible has not been altered..You have no excuse to not read it, or live by it darling..When God Almighty want something to be as is, it remain as is..Man do not have the power to alter what God Almighty has established..God Almighty said "rocks will cry out, before his word would go away"..Now try saying something new..No one can handle his word because it is sharp as a two-edge sword, and piercing to the marrow of the bone..You are becoming convicted, just on thinking about it.."No man can serve two masters, for he will love one and hate the other"..You are only saying what your Father satan is leading you to say.."he was a liar from the beginning" ~ He was cast out of heaven and Jesus "beheld him, as he hit the ground like lightening" (smile)..His days are "numbered on this earth"..It is just a matter of time, for him and all of his weak followers..Repent before it is too late, dear..lady Q
"davidm", I accidently gave you a thumbs down but I meant to give you a thumbs up..

Did you know most the people on earth (all but 8) were destroyed because of disobedience in the Flood? Just because large numbers of people say something it doesn't make it right.
Most Germans allowed the Jews to be killed during the Holocaust. Does this make them right?
Sometimes doing and believeing the right thing requires standing alone.

There are three complete NT in existence which refute what you have just said. In addition, even if they did not exist, the NT could be reconstructed from references to it in thousands of ancient manuscripts. Anyone who says that the Bible has been changed is a charlatan and a fraud. Nice try, but the evidence does not back up your claim.

*laughing*...hon....just about anyone can call themselves a "bible scholar". I go to the source, God's word. And if someone else says it's been changed, that's up to them. I have witnessed first hand the power of His word, and that is all the evidence I need.

Oh yeah, like THEY know.
The Dead Sea Scrolls blew their U-boats out of the water.
This book proves for a fact that every letter in the Bible (in the original text) is there by design of one Author.
