What is a Christian? should have been your question. A Christian is someone who understands his need for God. The Bible teaches that God is righteous and man is not. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of a righteous God. God is all knowing so when he passed the law down to Moses did he expect man was going to be perfect and obey his laws completely and be without sin? No god gave man free will and knew before he created him that man would not be perfect. So why the law? The law demonstrates to us God's righteouness and whos us how far we fall from it and demonstrates our need for him. so If God is perfect and man is not can a righteous God pretend that man has not sinned and simply say it's okay your forgiven?
No. could god pretend sin was okay and overlook it and remain a righteous God? the answer is clearly no but God was all knowing and knew man would fall and did have a plan for man and that plan was to come to the world in the form of man Jesus Christ and be tempted as a man and to remain perfect and to pay the penalty of death for his creation to bring man to his righteousness not to join man in his sin.
Now those who accept the atonement having the price paid for their sins are now by faith new creatures no longer under law but made new in God's righteouness in agreement with his law. Now I say this by faith as we have not died and become new as of yet but what we have we have by faith.
Does this mean that man becomes perfect and no longer sins? No we are still in a sinful world and in the same sinful flesh. It does mean that man will no longer serve sin as no man can have two masters he will allow God to make changes in his life and will no longer be in agreement with sin.
If we accept the atonement we are by faith changed and are becoming new creatures and live our lives according to our beliefs and if we stumble it is not sin but sin that dwells in our flesh.Our life should reflect that we are new creatures and we are not servents of sin but servents of Christ. The power of the aotnement and resurrection of Christ gives us the strength through faith to allow God to make changes in us.
If you desire to be a Chrisitan and to have a personal relationship with God then you pray to God and ask forgiveness in the name of Jesus and accept the atonement and seek God's truth in his word and in prayer and meditation and seek God's will in your life and you will receive a gift of faith and through faith comes revelation and a true realtionship with the living God.

I remember my early teens; it SUCKED! You're at the age where nothing makes sense and everything seems to a matter of life and death. You'll be there for a while. That's O.K.; it's normal. It's also a really hard time. It will get better. In the mean time, remember this: God loved his child, YOU, enough to become human and be tortured and then executed so that you could go to heaven. Don't worry about why that had to happen, just remember that's how much God loves you. It is the begining of wisdom. You are at a very early age to begin such a serious inquiry about your faith. To be honest, I am very impressed with you. I hope the following advice helps. I had to learn it the hard way.
Ask some friends that you trust if they know a religious leader with whom they can speak openly and without being judged. The person they identify is someone with whom you should speak about your issues. It will be a little embarrassing at first, but it will help you.
As Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40 [NIV].) In other words, God loves you, so love Him back. Love everyone you can love, just as God loves you. If you cannot love someone, then treat that person as if you did love him. By the way, realize that you are not perfect and that you will never be perfect, just like everyone else. Therefore, remember to ask for forgiveness for your sins everyday. And thank God for that forgiveness; it comes from His love for you.

Sounds like you’re off to a great start! Teenage years and confusion kinda go together, being a Christian will get you through it. The only things you have to give up happen to be things that are bad for your mental and physical health anyways. So, if you’re striving to be the best you possible it is wise to follow the Commandments set by God. Everyone has bad or improper thoughts at times, often we even act on them but that doesn’t keep us from heaven. All you have to do is trust in the Lord; let him lead you along the path of good and healthy choices. Let Him help you become all you were meant to be. :)

Well, You have to make that choice. But I know how you feel because that was the reason I didn't want to become a Christian for a long time. The only things you will have to give up is stuff that is of the devil. If you give them up, it might be hard at first, but if you read you bible, and throw away everything you have that you know God would not like you to have, and resistance the Devil. Then you will begin to not even have the desire to do or look at the stuff you used to and be more into seeking God.

You can be born into a Christian family and go to church everyday but that doesn't mean you are a Christian. You must believe in Christ and that he died on the cross for our sins and then be willing to commit your life to him and have a relationship with him. I'm a Christian, and before I gave my life to him I was worried about giving up things too, but I took the leap anyways and yeah I gave up things but not only are they just things ,with God's help I didn't miss them! I hope you'll being willing to just surrender and let God take control, it's the best thing I have ever recieved!

because even as a lot of human beings are fascinated in reading those religions, Christianity is the most dominant contained in the U. S., and for that reason the only which receives the most interest. that is one element to study a faith for extraordinarily own understanding and yet another to target to understand a faith whose adherents have the capacity to outcome my existence. I ask and answer dissimilar questions with reference to Christianity because i develop into raised Christian, gave it up, and stay in a usually Christian us of a. It consequences me for this reason i'm extra fearful about it than say Hinduism, which has little to no outcome on me.

If you were a Christian you would know it. You are not a Christian because your parents were or because you attend
church.
As far as giving up things - Jesus gave up His life for you. If you give more to Him than He gave for you then you would be giving up too much! It will never happen!
Being a Christian is repenting and trusting. We are all sinners and offensive to God. We come to God and confess our sin and ask Him for forgiveness and then trust Him to do what He has promised which is to forgive us. After that we live to love and serve Him in gratitude for His love for us.
Being a Christian is not a "piece of cake" especially if you intend to seriously commit yourself to following Christ. You will find that most worldly people will stand against you and resist the Holy Spirit working in and through your life. No big thing in itself because the Lord will empower us to deal with every obstacle we will ever face in life.
If you are serious about this, and need more help there are many who come here, including myself, who would be happy to give you all the help you need.

Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. He gave up alot (His own life). He doesn't ask us to do that for him. All He asks is that you accept him as your Lord and Savior. And to repent. We are all sinners. Sometimes we can make better choices and try not to sin but the bottom line is that we do sin. The good news is that as a Christian if you accept Jesus as your Savior....then you are forgiven for your sins.
It is not a difficult choice to make at all.

READ THE HOLY BIBLE,KJV.GOD LOVES YOU,YOU NEED TO LOVE HIM ALSO, IN TRUTH.
Study to show thyself approved
2Tm:2:14: Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Tm:2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Tm:2:16: But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
2Tm:2:17: And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
2Tm:2:18: Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
2Tm:2:19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Tm:2:20: But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Tm:2:21: If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2Tm:2:22: Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2Tm:2:23: But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
2Tm:2:24: And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2Tm:2:25: In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
2Tm:2:26: And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
THIS IS NOT OVER NIGHT,IT IS FOR LIFE. GOD BLESS
