to human life in the near future..I have a question...
If you could relocate to another planet, if earth had the potential of being destroyed by an impending Asteroid would you go?
or would you stay on earth and ride it out? As a christian I would stay right here and trust GOD that he will make all things new as he promised..And You?

That is an excellent idea! If we could get all the believers to stay here and convince them "god" would take care of them, we'd finally be able to live on a reasonable, peaceful world. Imagine a world without the weight of dogma and false beliefs...

How soon can I leave?

Honey, that planet is light years away, and ah we have only been to the moon once, so I'd say you will probably be dead by the time anyone can build a space ship fast enough to get us there, but if I could have the opportunity to visit another planet, I would go in a second, exploration, has nothing to do with whether your going to Heaven or not, only acceptance of Jesus, Peace.

first, what are considered Earth-like planets may not be desirable for human occupation. Even Mars is considered earth-like.

second, humans are far more reliant on other earth life-forms than we believe. As the bee pandemic worsens, maybe people will start to realize that. there's no guarantee any other world will be able to support such an interconnected biosystem.

so, no, probably not.

The notion of going to another planet fascinates me, but I may not be a good candidate for space travel. I have a screwy eye, and sudden changes in gravity and air pressure could affect it in a bad way.

Of course I'd leave. But if all the religious people stayed behind to let god fix it, that would be a good way to start a more logical society.
