A standard porcelain binded to metal (tooth colored) one ranges from 800 to 1200 depending on where you live. Of course if you have insurance it may cover a good percentage of that. If you want a cheaper route due to lack of insurance, you might want to try your local dental school where students will do it for a reduced fee.

Depending upon what part of the country you live a porcelain crown will cost $850 - $1000. If you have dental insurance you'll probably pay 50% of that but only after the 18 month waiting period and deductible. If you don't have insurance you can get on a dental discount fee for service plan. These plans do not have any waiting period and no deductible. These plans will cost you around $110 - $130 per year and the crown will then cost you around $450 - $550.

I'm an insurance agent and I don't have dental insurance but I do have a dental discount plan. You can select among several different companies here: http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?locationid=20349

Before signing up on any dental plan check the provider list to see if your dentist takes the plan. If you don't have a dentist call several that are on the list to make sure they're still accepting the plan and that they take new patients.

Well, I was just quoted $1600-$1700 with a root canal just today. So it'll be less than that.

IVAN,
A CROWN COST IS MANY TIMES BASED ON WHAT MOST DENTISTS CHARGE IN THE AREA WHERE YOU LIVE. THIS CAN BE SEVERAL HUNDRED $. WITH THE ROOT CANAL, IT'S SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE.
