I would ask the one that is not exactly the prettiest flower in the garden because she will be the most appreciative of the invitation and you will feel greatest escorting her knowing she is so happy. And also, you say you don't know the other girl that well, and she could turn out to be a real turn off at the prom and ruin the whole thing for you (why chance it). Some girls expect way too much, especially at prom time. Go with the girl who is your friend and you will have great memories of your prom and you will feel good knowing she's going to have great memories also. Good luck and God Bless.

Looks aren't everything, but if she's your friend she'll probably appreciate you as a date more than anyone else! Plus you wouldn't be overly nervous to impress that super-pretty-awesome girl you've been crushing on. I've heard so many stories about guys asking their dream dates to prom, go to prom, and have their dates scurry over to their circle of friends and leaving him out. Prom is for FUN so plan it so that you can really enjoy it to the fullest!

the second girl, because she is my friend and i know we would have a good time. we have things in common and i wouldn't want to ask someone, especially to a prom, that i really don't know too well.

I would ask the person i liked...not someone I was purely platonic with. that wouldn't make much sense.
