ok , so I met this real great girl at work a few months ago, and we went out and all for a little bit but things kinda ended because she said she wasn't ready because she was still in love with her ex or whatever so I respected that and gave her some space. I really liked this girl a lot and I really thought I could have something serious with her too. well, me and her best friend are real good friends too and about a month later her friend tells me shes going to go out with this guy next week or whatever so I felt bad because she lied 2 me...Long story short her birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and I know the perfect present for her too, but my friends say don't get her anything and I don't know if I should get her something or not. I guess I want to get her something because I don't want to be a poor sport about things + I still have strong feelings for her, even though she hurt my feelings and lied to me.What do you think I should do...Should I get her something or not?

I would say not...you might as well write sucker on your forehead if you do that. Not to be harsh but if she lied to you it seems she isn't into you that way and buying her a gift just looks pathetic like you still want to be with her. Have some pride and go use that money to buy yourself something nice.

That is messed up that she broke your heart like that. But if you do care about her and still want to get her a gift, go ahead, she'll see you for the good man that you are and maybe come crawling back. Some girls want the bad guys until they get hurt, then they come crawling back to the nice guy she should have choose in the first place. Giving her a gift shows that you arent mad and that you are willing to be friends or more with her. She will appreciate it. Just dont go and spend a butt load of money for a chick that did you dirty.

Since the two of you don't really have a relationship, giving her a gift may make her very uncomfortable and possibly even angry. A relationship is supposed to involve 2 ppl. From what you have told me, only you are interested in having a relationship with her. Give yourself time to find a woman who is likewise interested in you. Meet women elsewhere (sometimes, there are not enough single women in a particular workplace).

If you feel so strongly about her try getting her a expensive gift to show her you are still thinking about her..See how she responds to this thoughtfulness of you...If you don't get the kind of response you want then forget any romantic ideas about her because she don't feel the same way...Try just being her friend.

If you care for her, as a friend or as more, you should go ahead and buy the gift. It seems like it will make you just as happy as you think it will make her. She should feel blessed to have someone care so much for her.
