If you feel that your depression is getting worse, you must tell your doctor; your best bet is to ask for a referral to a psychiatrist, as they have the most experience when it comes to medication.
If you're not already on them, you may benefit from taking an anti depressant, though be aware many people have to try a few before they find the one that does the trick.
If you are already on them, clearly they're not working as they should be, because you're still very low - insist that your doctor either changes the dosage or tries you on another medication that will be more effective.
You should also have a blood test and have as many things checked as possible, to rule out any physical cause for your depression. Underactive thyroid, for example, or anaemia; both of these can mimic the symptoms of depression.
Try and eat healthily; lots of oily fish, fruit and vegetables.
Definitely speak to your doctor - you should not be feeling so low and there is help available. If you don't feel you're getting anywhere with your present doctor, find a better one!
