Some people are quiet by nature. You cannot change a person's personality. Confidence is gained through experience, not forced upon a person.

If you really like this guy, learn to live with his quiet nature. When and if he is ready to talk, he will. Otherwise, move on to a person more suitable to the type of personality you want in a boyfriend.

You can't change your man you know. A persons personality is in place by age seven years. If you try and change him you will lose him-if he's like me-and I am quiet too. I would advise to just be sweet and loving and accept him as he is. If he feels loved then his confidence will develop from that unconditional love you provide

I'm quiet as well. Maybe it is because you talk to much. If you sit with him quietly eventually he will talk, and you will find out more about him. Then you will have stuff to talk about.

(forcing a man to talk only creates space and anger)

If you wanted to date someone confident, you shouldn't have gone for this guy. If this guy gains confidence, it should be through his own means and for his own reasons. You could always encourage him, but trying to change someone in a relationship to suit your needs always ends up in a failed relationship. You knew he was shy when you went in, either accpet it or let him find someone who will.
