If God had asked Sarah to sacrifice Isaac, instead of asking Abraham, do you believe she would have obeyed?

Maternal instinct is such a powerful force. Do you believe it is possible to put obedience to God above maternal instinct?

I would really like to find out what other women think.

I think that any mother would not want her child to be sacrificed, although that is not a guarantee that she would not obey G-d. It is possible for a woman to put obedience to G-d above her maternal instinct, yes. Abraham put his paternal instincts aside and I think he loved his sons just as much as Hagar and Sarah did.

Well, the looney Andrea Yates put the voice in her head above maternal instinct. Sarah, it's written, laughed at God. So, I doubt she wouldv'e heard any voices or been crazy enough to do what was said.
(BTW, I don't think Abraham was a looney. A manipulative, lying jerk-yes-but not a looney)

Sorry the first son was the son of Sacrifice.

He was the "only son" for 14 years and he was sent to Arabia when he was a baby.

Not when he was a 17 yr old like what the bible scholars wrote into the bible.
