I never sleepwalk in my life, now I am almost 30 and all of a sudden I start doing it???, it's been like 3 or 4 times in a month already. My husband says I usually talk in my sleep and I have full conversations with him, but now it's like I sit up or stand up and sing or talk.
My husband is completely freaked out because I always fool him , he says he always thinks I'm awake, he never realizes I am sleepwalking, he talks to me and I reply normally but then he realizes I am sleepwalking. What can I do to stop doing it and does this warrant a visit to the doctor?, it's kind of embarrasing!.
BTW, I drink alcohol very rarely like Xmas and Thanksgiving and I have never done a drug in my life, I've read those two are related to sleepwalking but it's not my case. Help!, I am freaking out my hubsband!.

I agree, my Mother sleep walks! Worse she sleeps upstairs and I sleep downstairs. Thankfully my Dog wakes me up and I think reckons we have a strange living upstairs that the dog never sees. It started after my Father died and it was all new to me as she called my name and of course I went to see what the problem was 'Can you tell your Father to stop tickling my toes!' I was stood in the doorway thinking 'we just buried him?' This went on for many months and at first I would hold three hour conversations. At breakfast I would say 'So what do you think?' Mother would not know what in Hades I was talking about, fast asleep all night long.
I have noted it is at times of STRESS!
Last episode, my Uncle, Mothers Brother was dying and Mum used to be a Nurse. The dog woke me, I heard a bang, went to investigate. Mother was trying to get out the bedroom window? She thought it was a veranda and we do not have one. After that: because if the dog had slept through it, imagine the scene, 9am I get up put dog out in garden, dog finds Mother and I would be no wiser, then the Authorities would be called and it would be 'did she jump or was she pushed?' I gave her a nice hot toddy and she slept like a log.
On a previous occasion Mother fell out of the bed, cracked her head against the bedside locker. Black eye, swollen, bruised and cut. By morning the eye lashes had turned IN, so I suggested she went to the Doc. Mother refused to see her own Doc, through embarrssement, so I took her to my Doc. He sticthed the eye but nothing he could do for the sleepwalking.
Therefore you must figure out what your are worried or stressed about and only then will you find peace.
With Mother it is death of a relative that upset her.

I am a sleepwalker who talks and does all kinds of things, while I am sleeping. I do it more when I am upset or really, really tired. There is nothing wrong with you. My whole family does it. My sons do it so much, that, as an adult.............one son actually tried to fix his bedroom door so that he couldn't get out in his sleep. He took a long wire type thing and wrapped it around most everything, and lastly, to his bedroom doorknob. In the middle of the night, he woke up, but, just as he was unwinding the last little bit off the door to get out of his room! No one realizes we are alseep, either.
The reason my son had tried to lock himself into his room, that time, was because the night before, he got up and found a strange thing. Beer cans were all over his living room (he lived alone at the time) and he could taste the beer in his mouth! He was scared, silly! But, he'd been a sleepwalker all his life, but THAT had never happened! So, we have family jokes about who did what while sleeping. Remember THIS: When you sleep talk, and your husband chats with you.......you will tell the absolute TRUTH. You can't help but do that.....................just keep track of what you do while sleepwalking, talking,,,,,,,,,,,,someday, it will funny to you!

First off, you probably wont find the answer here, on yahoo. you WILL, however, find it from your docter. I know that thats imbarrasing but he/she would know best. And you may possibly want to find out by your husband what your saying in your sleep because maybe that could relate to the sleepwalking.

Something is bothering you and you should go to a doctor and tell him about it.. he will probably ref you to a shrink.
I don't think its something physical but you have to be careful because you could end up walking out the door and getting hurt. Why be embarassed your not the first person to have this problem.. go make an appointment today.

sleepwalking is most often related to mental health issues, you may want to see a therapist to figure this one out.
