Wearing Scarf?

Question

Why do women have to wear scarf in muslim countries?
If it is not to take the attention of opposite sex then i think men should start wearing scarf too. because as well as men, women are human being too and they can be affected as well.



*I'm not muslim so keep in mind that my knowledge about this topic is limited. but i was just curious

"Raw meat"?! Y'know I respect Islam and Muslims who are altruistic, compassionate and wise, but to refer to women as "raw meat" is objectifying them and a disgrace to the concept of "inner hijab" men are expected to follow along with the inner and outer hijab expected by BOTH sexes. Gives Islam a bad name.

What you're asking about, dear lady, is the exterior hijab which is supposed to be about modesty, but after studying Islam in depth, there's also a concept of "inner hijab" which is supposed to be about mental "modesty" and "self-control". Most wise Muslims will tell you about this.

Quranic Verses about Hijab:

“O you Children of Adam! We have bestowed on you raiment to cover your shame as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition.” (Quran 7:26)


“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. It's called Hijab and women wear it so men will not cast glances against them. Men don't wear... hijab... because it's mostly men that commit rape and it's more likely that a man will be affected by revealing the skin.

When saying "raw meat" he refers to women who walk with skin-tight shorts half way up... not to all women.

Islam gives equal rights to women and men, it is in teachings of islam for a women to not only wear a scarf but also to cover her body in such a way that it does not attracts others because her husband is the only one whom she can show herself.
similarly islam teaches men to lower their eyes and not to look at the other women as their all feelings and emotions are reserved for their wives.

Women wear scarves because Allah ordered women to cover. It doesnt have anything to do with men, If you go to the Saudi Arabia or other gulf countries the men wear head scarves also, I forgot what they're called. We all seen them, the black and white or red and white ones. It has to do with modesty, self respect and dignity. It has nothing to do with men, men are ordered to dress modestly also. Women who are covered I know for a fact are women who respect themselves, they have good self confidence, they are good pious women. Covered women are beautiful!! God willing, when they get to heaven, the covered women will be the most beautiful women in heaven.

wearing scarf means men in their country are perverts and can easily turn on by seeing your hair. wearing scarf means women in their country are weak and do what their husband told them to do. wear scarf don't say in Quran. it only says cover yourself when you practising.ohh i hate people trying to teach something not true.*Nunya* you know nothing
