Excerpt from one of the last questions: "I believe that God will love anyone who is good and who believes in Him." What we have here is blatantly NOT CHRISTIANITY... at least the way the Bible sets forth. Atheists, I enjoy these questions/answers so much, it really gives me a chance to expound upon my faith. (esp. with the hardheaded ones like me! :P) I just have to say that when "Christians" post things like this, please do not take this as a representative of all Christianity, but rather grade with a curve. I try my best to do the same with your party. God's word says "there is no one who does good, not even one."(Rom 3:10) There are no good people in Heaven. Good people are not allowed into Heaven, the Bible says they go south... allowed into Heaven are only perfect people! How many of them do we know?(and why are they all on Y!Answers-giggle) The only people in Heaven are those who have trusted in the works of sinless Jesus Christ. I know this question may be a repeat...

Skalite5:

Yes, I would believe Ghandi is in Hell, right next to Ward Cleaver(fictional.. the guy from "Leave it to Beaver") while Jeffery Dahmer is spending eternity with Christ in Heaven.

Just being good, will not get you into heaven, you must be born again. How can a person manage to be good, yet can't accept Christ? I think some people, thinks that if they are born again, that they have to walk a fine line or something. Well, you don't see very many of us Christians walking that fine line, do you? I know, I don't, I've tried, but I stumble.
I'm saved, but I'm not perfect.

Since hell is translated from the Hebrew word "sheol" and the Greek word "hades" both which mean the grave or place of burial, then the answer is yes. Jesus himself, who committed no sin, was in hell for three days until his God and Father resurrected him back to life.
The book of Revelation tells us that soon death and hell will be no more. (Revelation 20:14)
Without death, there will be no need for graves (hell)
This is a wonderful promise from a loving God.

Technically, no.
The Bible teaches that God alone is good. Matthew 19:17
That we all fall short of God's glory. Romans 3:23
That they heart of man is deceitful and wicked. Jeremiah 17:9

Man's definition of "good" and God's definition of it are vastly different, literally world's apart.

Only those who reject Jesus go to hell.
Whether they fit man's definition of good or bad is irrelevant.
God judges by His definitions, not man's.
Mahatma Ghandi?
Mother Theresa?
David Berkowitz?
Jeffrey Dahmer?

So what you're saying is that goodness of being has no bearing on whether or not you go to heaven? Just trying to clarify, but you are saying without equivocation that Gandhi is in Hell, because he didn't take Jesus into his heart. I'm not judging, I'm just trying to get your viewpoint clearly.

Absolutely true. The only thing one needs do to go to hell is

NOTHING.

That said, isn't it funny how so many people's memory plays tricks on them about sins they have committed, but works like a steel trap for the sins of others.

If they're going south, how far, Texas? I thought hell was earth and once you achieved enlightenment, you didn't have to come back after your death. Good people keep coming back but they haven't quite attained enlightenment.

I do not believe there is a hell to go to. Hell is a man made concept designed to control people through fear. A supreme deity would never create such a place it makes no sense to me.
