I mean if I said that Winnie the Pooh was read because there were several books written about him? (and no, I don't mean the Canadian WWI mascot)
Or that Frodo and Sam were real because a book mentions them, someone would strap a straight jacket on me and put me in a nice padded cell.
But if a christian or muslim uses their books of mythology to "back up" a myth or character within those books, that's ok.
Is it any wonder that the world is falling closer to chaos every minute?
We're supposed to be getting MORE scientific folks, not more superstitious.

Karen,
You want to know what gets under my skin?
The idea that in this day and age, people are STILL stupid and gullible enough to fall for the longest running con-job in history.
THAT's what gets under my skin.

Latter,
I love this line;
" May I suggest that you attend one at your convenience. If the auditorium is overcrowded as it usually is, the creationists offer their seats to the evolutionists. Do you know why? Because the creationists end up winning every single debate.'

Why do I love it? Because it's packed with so much BS that you could fertilize most of Africa with it.
The FACTS around Evolution are not up for debate. That's like saying the facts around gravity are up for debate.
Evolution is fact. Learn to deal with that simple but irrefutable fact.
The ONLY time that such a debate would end up in the favor of a creationist, is if they shouted down the evolutionists. Which is, after all, a favorite tactic of fundamentalists everywhere.
You have my pity man, you really do. To be this self-deluded is beyond comprehesion to me. And I'm good with that.

See what you get for being smart? Asking questions?

All you get is lies and false claims that a creationist could beat a evolutionist in a debate... on what planet????

The Xians rabidly attack anything that questions their silly fables. They have no idea how totally ignorant they are. There is no hope for such people. All we can do is hope they don't breed any more little xians and we will be ok.

Dear yoda,

Have you ever been to an Evolution vs. Creation debate? May I suggest that you attend one at your convenience. If the auditorium is overcrowded as it usually is, the creationists offer their seats to the evolutionists. Do you know why? Because the creationists end up winning every single debate.

But you may ask, "But why is evolution taught in most university science curricula or why are there so many publications on evolution? The reason is because man does not like to face the fact that one day he will stand at the Judgment Seat of God to give an account of his/her life. This is unacceptable to most people. The evolutionist attempts to put this truth out of his mind by stating "there is no god" or coming up with the fairy tale of evolution.

May I suggest that you just start reading the Bible.

faith (no rely which) seeks to not in undemanding terms coach that's very own dogma, even with the undeniable fact that that's going to normally include and soak up interior reach fantasy and ideology to lead them to the two perfect yet consistent with the hot teachings. Take Christmas: Christians have been searching for a thank you to sell the religion and desperate to celebrate the start of Jesus throughout the time of the Roman Saturnalia competition so as that the interior reach Roman garrisons does not hunt down and imprison Christians that refused to celebrate the state faith and that's gods. As Christianity took a much wider foothold interior the modern worldwide, the myths and previous ideals have been stored intact with in undemanding terms the adjustments of the homestead of David and the followers of Christ.

And so, until about 1975 why did "science" books state the theory of evolution was the Ape to man idea? and now the science books read like that was never the case.

The bible has more correct history then any book ever written, And more and more of it is being proven everyday.

But the most important point about this is: If evolution is ever proven, then what? Are all our tomorrows better because of something we know from a couple of million years ago? NO.

You seem like you are one of the people President Eisenhower was talking about.

no, its no wonder that the "world is falling closer to chaos every minute". That's what the Bible says will happen. Its not superstition - God is the ultimate scientist. He created all that exists? Does your logic tell you that all that exists comes from a big explosion, or evolution? Logic tell me that it was created by something. That something is God. He created the whole entire universe and far beyond what we could ever imagine.
By the way- The Bible is nonfiction. Those others are fiction. It you learn the definition of those you will be able to have discernment.

If one believes the book to be myth then of course it would seem odd. to those of us who believe the bible to be God's word, then it makes perfect sense to use His word to back up our stance on religion. The world is falling into chaos because we as a people at large have become immune or so innured to the ugliness around ud that the vast majority of people see it as something they cannot fix and therefore they ignore it instead. Has nothing to do with religion on that aspect.

Religions are based on faith--not on superstitions. There are very many religious organizations, with different views and different traditions. One thing that they all have in common is God--regardless of the name they call Him.

Are you unaware that many scientists are very active in their various places of worship--I know for a fact that some are. Remember separation of church and state--and separation of work and faith.

Why not include science with the discussion on religious things? Why not inlcude scientific thinking when applying rational thought to say, Christianity?

Who told you that it was okay to be unscientific about Christianity? Why not let your brain at it?

well considering that those people in the books, most have been proven to have existed, Also they are mentioned by scholars who wrote about them, actually meeting them (people who are not in the bible) writings our scientist do have.

So it wouldn't be a "Myth" because a "myth" is known without a doubt to be "false" and religion "most of it" has never been disproven, because of these writings that our scientist do possess...

I don't trust scientist's completely. Number one they are human and number 2. none of them can agree on anything....that too me in not fact, but of one's opinion, and uses they way you believe, that would "myth" don't you think?

It's the circular logic used by these theists that never seems to die out. The mentality of "I know because I believe, and I believe because I know" is ever present in these theists and somehow makes sense to them. It is such a shame that they cannot instead choose to believe in fairy tales (if they MUST) that are less likely to lead to violence.
