The bees are dying, the fish in the great lakes are dying, the arctic ice is melting, New Orleans still hasn't recovered from Katrina, storms and tornados everywhere are out of season and destroying homes like never before, and we are in a war that is going to break the bank in America..
Doesn't all this mean anything?? Is God trying to get our attention??

Duh, I've been saying that for years and everyone always thinks I'm joking. God is pissed, we're ruining the beautiful earth he gave us and he's not going to stand for it.

bees dying, fish dying, arctic ice melting...It seems to me a "HEY YOU" would be a whole lot better way.God wouldn't get our attention with something confusing, would he?We all know who the author of confusion is. "HEY YOU!!!!" surely god thought of that also? But maybe WE better start paying attention to OUR planet. Short a "HEY YOU!" I'll assume it's not god.

No, it means that capitalism still rules supreme. And that environmental issues take a back seat to economic ones.
Did you know that if 10% of the money wasted on this "war" in Iraq was used for Hydrogen fuel cell research, North America would be fossil fuel free in less than 10 years?
That includes the cost of retro-fittin EVERY car on the road to burn H at NO cost to the consumer.
But that doesn't make the big oil companies millions of dollars a day, so it's ignored.
Nice huh?

No. God has nothing to do with it. These are all naturally occurring events. Chemicals in the air lead to warmer temperatures. Chemicals in the water kill fish. If you think your God killed people in New Orleans by causing a hurricane, your God is not very good.

Jesus Christ on a Pogo Stick, what is it with you people and only seeing the negative things. I am sick and tired of hearing your inane tales of doom and gloom, even if they include stupid claims like 'the bees are dying *snicker*'.

Do you ever leave your home/community? Travel the world at large? The majority of humanity is better off than ever before in history. The planet is doing fine. Yes, local disasters and changes in weather can be a ***** but we are the result of billions of years of life. We are masters at survival. Somehow, we'll eke out a living. It is what we do.

No, it means this planet is filled with stupid people who try to take all of the humans mistakes & say it's a sign from god.

We screwed up the planet and now we are noticing changes. Why would god kill bees and fish to get our attention? Come on! It's all human beings' fault. we're destroying the planet and if we don't all drop this "god is pissed off" routine we're all going to make this planet inhabitable for ourselves and we'll wind up killing ourselves off.... and there won't be a pretty afterlife to look forward to.

And most people now acknowledge that global warming is a problem, we have just discovered a genetic link to living longer, IBM have found that chips could run faster and be more energy efficient thanks to a process that copies nature's creation of seashells and snowflakes.

For every story of doom and gloom there exists another that gives hope of man's humanity, common sense and ingenuity.

It just depends on how you look at things I think.

No, it means we're still finally coming out of an ice age, and our carbon emissions may just push global warming so far so fast that the ice age/warm age cycle might be broken.

Nothing supernatural about it.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling! We've had natural disasters of one kind or another since man has walked the Earth. No one can say whether or not we have more now than we did in history... we just have no way of knowing. Stop drinking the kool aid and use your brain.
