Who would win in a fight. The British Military or the US Military?

That's against each other now. No nuclear devices please.

After the Persian Gulf incident, the British military made the French look brave in comparison. USA by knockout.

Let's not forget that they would all be speaking German if it wasn't for the US military. They were toast twice over had we not saved them from the Kaiser and Hitler.

Do you mean them invading us? Must do, because in the other direction we wouldn't get more than about a hundred miles past Ireland before the bulk of our troop carriers, along with our single Carrier in service, were sunk by their subs, and then the rest of the Task Force would be mopped up until we surrrendered.
As an ex-RN type, even if they were invading us I have to say the US would pound us into submission. We'd put up a good fight for -- well, maybe five weeks, by which time we'd be so smashed militarily it would turn into a guerrilla war, led by SAS/SBS and other Special Forces making life difficult for them (as our trops would if the Franco-German Empire -- sorry, the EU -- occupied us).
However, as the US have a much closer Legal system to ours than the EU, and because it was the US, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and even South Africans who supplied/offered aid to us during the Falklands War, and the French and Germans provided aid to Argentina, then given the choice of EU or US rule, then give me the Stars and Stripes any day! Naturally, I'd prefer to see our country remain independent, but that'll only happen as long as the EU realise we have the backing of a powerful and dependable ally across the Atlantic.

Kidding Right, just look at How the Brits , handled being
taken Prisoners by the Iranians. Besides the World ,already
hates us , so if we Fought against The Brits, it would be like
attacking our Parents. Totally unacceptable. Some of these answers are really amusing. However, read up on History, We

I think UK soldiers would duck and let the US soldiers kill each other in "friendly fire" incidents.

On a serious note, a friend of mine who serves in the Blues and Royals (British army) reckons that, in a fight between an equal force of US soldiers and British soldiers, the UK would come out on top because their training is better. He said that when he was serving alongside US troops, he noticed sergeants in the British Army were being given responsibilities that only captains and above were being given in the US army, leading to a lot less flexibility. He also reckons that a smaller force of British soldiers could beat the yanks if the British contingent had Paras in it because "they're hard b**tards"

If for some reason George Bush and his lot decided the UK was his next target, you yanks would lose. Simple.

The UK is the only ally you have left in the world, whereas, despite Tony's best efforts, we still have a few mates left to come to our aid.

With our skills and tactical brilliance and our mates to back us up, well, it's a foregone conclusion.

One on one the brits would win as they are not p ussies but the yanks have more men so they would win. Thats their weekness, too many and all relying on each other, not enough independence.
The Brits have to work harder.

DB14 Weve just finished paying you blood suckers and Canada back. The only reason the USA came into WW2 was that they didnt want a war with Germany and Japan at same time and saw us as a way of holding off the threat for a while. Britain was destroyed economically by the USA after WW2 and yes you did help save our butts but we did have the option at one stage of joining Hitler and going against you. Now didn't that scare the sh-it out of your politicians !!

the british military would win 'cos we have the best army in the world(thats why the americans ask for our help) and also the americans would end up killing their own as they have done in iraq.they might have more troops in america but the british have always known how to fight.fact...

I agree a lot with Honza. And why would the US ever want to fight the UK or vice versa. I'm a damn yank but I respect all you Brits, your society and Royal Family, and your soldiers are top notch and always have been. GO start a fight somewhere else, mate or I'll shiver ya tween tha shoulder blades with my K-bar and make liver pie of your better parts.
