If she will be able to have eggs, i advise Duncan Hines chocolate cake blend. delicious, and dairy free. in holding with your question, although, it feels like eggs likely are not a good theory. My husband is a vegan so when I bake, i do not use eggs or dairy. right here's a chocolate cake recipe that i like! a million a million/2 cups flour a million cup sugar 2/3 cup cocoa powder a million tsp baking soda a million a million/2 tsp vanilla a million/2 cup oil a million cup chilly water blend all elements mutually, pour right into a pan (i have used enormous, rectangle ones, or 2 8 inch circle ones) and bake for 20-30 min at 375. For frosting, i exploit Duncan Hines or Pillsbury frosting in a can. there is not any dairy (or eggs) in it, even though it develop into processed on kit that made dairy products. My husband, as a vegan, is happy with that, yet i'm no longer certain in case your daughter is permitted any "an infection". good luck! :)

If your friend lives near a Whole Foods Market, they have a wonderful bakery that specializes in dairy free items. They also have an extensive list of products to use that contain no dairy, including cake mixes. Since commercial cake mixes often contain powdered milk solids, you might consider looking in a Betty Crocker Cookbook and finding a favorite recipe there and substitute soy or rice milk for the required milk.

my son was allergic to dairy as well ---

Long ago in a far away land (he is now 19) I made his 1st birthday cake from an old-fashioend recipie so I would know exactly what was in it... I swapped out mil/water/butter for soy yogurt & it worked great

Have made other cakes like that since then for other kids with the same problems & for his Bday cakes for years until he decided he didn't want one anymore

Just make a classic angel food cake. It is dairy free and it will taste better than those adaptations of dairy cakes.

Ingredients:

1½ cups egg whites
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup rolled oats
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup cake flour
2 cups confectioners' sugar
¼ teaspoon salt

Method:

Preheat oven to 165C.

Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.

Combine cream of tartar, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon, oats, and mashed bananas. In a separate bowl combine the flour, confectioner's sugar, and salt.

Fold the banana mixture into the egg whites. Then fold the flour mixture into the egg white/banana mixture.

Pour batter into one 9 or 10 inch round cake pan, coated with a non-stick cooking spray.

Bake for 1 hour, until cake is firm and lightly golden.

Cool for five minutes then slip out of pan on to a serving dish. Garnish with a light dusting of confectioner's sugar.
